Re: Potter Out
Potter’s already half way out the door. But he’s just the latest chump. Sullivan will appoint another oit of work loser that won something at a big club etc years ago. Past reputation, old and unemployed. Sullivan goes for “bling” and optics based on past achievements. He has no idea about the need for a long term vision or plan. He will listen to his sons Jack and Dave Jnr and their agent mates and rinse and repeat. The whole cycle repeats. New man will not be picked based on tactical approach and hence want totally different type of players.
Sullivan is the root cause and whatever we do will never amount to anything other than a flash of success for a season at best. We are fvcked while he and his family are in control.

Re: Potter Out
I think there is a real chance given our opening fixtures (this was comfortably the ‘easiest’) that he goes after 8 to 10 games
Only problem is that Sullivan picks the next manager
Or does the job himself

Re: Potter Out
Potter could have gone with any midfield combination today and would have drawn a lot of criticism.
many are picking out JWP and Rodriguez but I thought Paqueta was shocking today.
the only player that wpuld have not drawn criticism in selection is Potts. It’s weird how he was playing in pre season then Potter lost his bottle for today.
not that I think Potts is the awnser or wpuld have changed that second half performance but still.

Re: Potter Out
The most worrying aspect is that there is no viable alternative if you apply Sullivan's criteria for a manager.
1. Must not be currently employed
2. Must have Premiership experience.
3. Must be a Will Salthouse client.
We are fucked.

Re: Potter Out
I really cannot understand quite how a player we sent out on loan to Forest, as in thats your lot with us son, now ends up starting every game. I mean fuck me JWP AND Rodriguez as our starting midfield pairing. Just sack him now ffs

Re: Potter Out
Calm down you bunch of knicker wetters
stop judging Potter on team selection, performances, results and statistics, and instead get behind the great man, blind faith is 100% the way to judge him

Will be surprised if he lasts 6 games. There isn’t anything about him you can believe in.

Re: Potter Out
Inherited the worst midfield in the league and had no improvement this summer.
Hermansen with probably the worst ever debut of a goalie.
im sure the Owners won’t mind the manager taking the flak. They’ve always liked it that way. Takes the heat of them.

Get behind the fucking team and manager.
I’m sensing a lot of you are literally praying for a Sunderland win so you can all say I told you so.
Win, lose or draw I’ll still be supporting them till the day I die.
Luckily this site wasn’t going during the Greenwood and Lyall years.
Modern football fans are shit. It’s all about instant gratification.
Cunts.
Re: Potter Out
He will fail sooner or later unless we somehow address the big problem that we all know has been with us since Rice left. Its as simple as that imo. 2 weeks left for Sullivan to address what his manager has no doubt asked for.

Re: Potter Out
I'm a big believer in giving every manager enough rope to hang themselves.
Get behind them - they manage West Ham, after all - but back them with the time and resources to do the job their way. Last season, Partridge took over somebody else's team and made just one (shite) loan signing.
He's had a pre-season now, signed some players he wanted (we all know the hindrances!) and has had the time to implement his methods, training, discipline etc.
So from here on, it's on him. Good luck to him. I'm West Ham and always want our teams and managers to do well. But he will have no excuses from this point onwards. Football management is an imperfect world, you never get a chance to completely clean house and start from scratch. But he's had some time. Now, like every other manager, he has to deliver...

Re: Potter Out
I don’t think he can, I think he believes we’re one midfield signing away from having the perfect midfield because he rates Ward-Prowse so highly. For me he’s the biggest problem in the starting XI, he’s ok as a squad player but it seems we’re building the team around him

Re: Potter Out
Don't see it myself. He was flavour of the month for a while last season when they went on a fantastic run of mid-season form, but they only won 4 of the last 15 games, not much better than Potter. And like you say, their mid table stability might be more down to their efforts in the transfer market than the manager.
The thing is that we shouldn't be thinking just about who the next manager might be, but the one after him. Even a manager who performs reasonably well usually only gets 2-3 years in charge so the club needs to have an identity and a style that they can continue and persevere with under successive managers.
I'm sure that most of us would love it if we actually adopted what we already see as the club's true identity: nurturing young players through the academy and playing attractive attacking football. Ideally we ought to have a ongoing list of managerial targets who we believe would adhere to this philosophy, not just randomly picking who's currently available or the latest flavour of the month.

Re: Potter Out
Potter will be gone soon enough if the central midfield is not properly rebuilt with 2 athletic, pacy, strong players coming in.
But who is doing the hiring of the manager? It will 100% be someone unemployed yet again but this time be a Sullivan pick via an agent as he will point to Brady messing up with recommending Potter.
The guy to get is the Iraeola at Bournemouth but that wont happen. Although would he fail too with Sullivan being DOF since Bournemouth like Brighton and EVERY other top flight club use professional, DOFs
Nothing improves under Sullivan.

Win, or more likely lose/draw it's going to be more tepid, unwatchable, pass among the center halves 600 times in our own final 3rd, crab ball shite.
How long until we can fuck him off?
