The whole midfield is a fucking joke including Paqueta, why play Potts most of the pre-season and then not start him. KiIlman is a fucking joke. New keeper was shocking. Thought Todibo played well though.
BUT where has the fucking money gone, people need to start asking this?
The midfield is a problem, clearly, but let’s be serious here, it doesn’t matter a fuck what midfield you have if you get undone by balls over the top that your defenders can’t handle, and crosses into the box that your defenders can’t handle.
I can’t think of a single team over the years that look so uncomfortable with balls played long at them. I can’t ever remember a time we didn’t feel exposed.

Selling Kudus, who would have created something for us, without any decent replacement is criminal behaviour.
Sullivan deserves bullets
Kudus is a talent worthy of playing in the Champions League. He's used us as stepping stone to get to a more ambitious club who can offer that, because let's face it he was wasting his time here.
We've barely progressed, if not regressed, from the end of last season when we were one of the shittest teams in the league.
We had 2 new players starting today. We could have arguably got the same result had we played Areola and Emerson instead of those 2. Diouf looks a good player, though.
The major issues are the centre backs and the central midfielders. And we spent the bulk of our transfer on a full back and keeper.
Bowen's unlikely to thrive in his new position. Go back to 4231, and put him in his best position. We need 3 major signings to stay up. A centre back, one that will allow us to play 4 at the back, somehow. And 2 central midfielders.
Kilman, Paqueta, JWP, Guido, Mads were not up for the fight, and as a 3 the midfield was suicidal. Unable to create a thing. Bowen and Fullkrug messed up their few chances but tried.
Paqueta, Alvarez and Guido need to be sold to get some funds to get some young, fast, strong central midfielders in asap. But we need a CB and a striker too but that midfield takes priority.
That said, 2 goals from long crosses into the box. 1970s football proved highly effective as we didnt make a challenge.
Potter got it all wrong with his selection and his changes too. Their goals shoukd be “meat and drink” for most defences.
We are bottom of the league. Making a real statement so early in the season.
Relegation without wholesake changes. 2 weeks of the window left and we are almost certain to come up short. Any player seeing this result will steer clear of joining thats for sure.
In summary, this is a half baked West Ham side trying to play a style that it is yesterdays news and its not suited to anyway
Fvcking depressing but predicted by quite a few of us.

Fancy getting battered by a newly Promoted side. Thing is, we did alright 1st half but whatever Potter said (or didn't say!), they all regressed and bottled that 2nd half big time. The whole Team went to absolute shit, even Bowen had a really bad game.
Agreed on that - we did fine first half and Sunderland looked there for the taking if we could capitalize going forward, however we came out and looked ponderous on the ball and aimless whilst Sunderland grasped the nettle. They wanted it more and they eventually showed our ageing squad up for what it is. That is a damning indictment on Potter.
Extraordinary team selection
As said Potts plays all preseason so he goes with the slowest possible midfield against a team who will be energetic in their first game back
Hermansen has had a poor game by the sound of it but Potter has thrown him under a bus when he hasn’t had a single minute with the defence & a weeks training
What an absolute bucket of cսnt that was.
How on earth any supposedly sane person, can think a midfield of JWP and Rodriguez is good enough is mind boggling.
JWP offers absolutely nothing.
Two nil down and we turn to the bench for attacking options and bring on Andy Irving. Jesus christ.
I had a kip and on waking (Not wanking it's too early even for me ) I thought we would have a nailed on 3 points. A newly promoted side turns us over with ease, shocker.

Literally the only positive spin I can put on that game is that it puts Potter's inevitable sacking that much closer. Getting comprehensively beaten by one of the teams most likely to get relegated is bad enough, but to do it in a manner that shows that he has learned nothing from last season's awful performances and that he will not or cannot make the tactical changes that he needs to, there's nothing left to hope for beyond a quick end to what will certainly be yet another dreary, shitty season.

Absolutely spineless performance. Got nowhere near them. Absolutely spanked by a really poor side.
Given we are selling several next week if it's to be believed this side is going to be even weaker.
This team has been absolutely ruined and has a negative, passive manager.
Kilman should be nowhere near first team. Constantly has issues playing people onside. An absolute flop. Not strong enough, Cant head a ball. Get rid.
Yeah I'm angry watching this but mainly as its blindingly obvious to most people and clearly the opposition each week how easy we are to beat.
We’re stuck with Kilman (although he doesn’t have to start). I doubt any other side, except Wolves, will pay anything close to his fee for him. And nobody, at all, will pay his West Ham wages.
We’ve MASSIVELY overpaid for a complete ringer. Basically the new Gary Breen, but we handed over a fortune to get him. He needs to improve significantly. But can anybody see it happening?

Terrible start. Absolutely thrashed by a poor team we didn’t even lay a glove on.
After a poor summer, we’ve still got too many expensive, over-paid, over-rated players using up a big chunk of our finances. And a manager who sets us up too defensively, too deep and with too many people behind the ball too often.
Too much dead weight who either need to improve massively or leave: Kilman, Ward-Prowse, Rodriguez, Aguerd.
Even Fullkrug needs to stop talking, stay fit and start delivering. He was poor today, albeit feeding off scraps. Just bashed into people (and was outmuscled by that big lump at the back for them) but no sharpness or threat.
The keeper made a rickett for the third goal. He can’t keep like that if he wants to play in the Premier League. Hopefully he’ll improve his focus.
It’s all the same shit. Seemingly, they’ve learned nothing from last season yet.
We need reinforcements. Fast. Or play the kids. Potts doesn’t play as badly as Rodriguez - guaranteed.
Opening game. So plenty of time to improve. But that was complete and utter shit. A real wake-up call.

Hermansen proving he isn’t an upgrade on Areola, just as I said.
Kilman again looking like the worst CB in PL history.
First 6 pointer lost.
Sold our best player to not improve a single area. Might as well cash in on Paqueta and prepare for the championship.
We've made an art form of selling quality and replacing with cast offs and expensive mistakes, so much so its likely costing us our PL status. Sullivan wont replace potter any time soon ans even if he does he'll replace him with another yes man or underwhelming manager.
I'll have no complaints should we get relegated, we have that stink about us based on today and we will have deserved it royally.
Also, can’t see Potter being sacked before the end of this season. Really in trouble here.
He needs to be sacked before the end of the fucking DAY.
Not going to happen though is it? Sullivan won’t want to admit two mistake appointments in too short a period of time. He will drag this out until the last minute.
This season is over before it’s had a chance to begin.
