It'll be interesting to see what happens when the inevitable One Direction reunion happens.

I assume that the timing will be everything to ensure that their fans haven't grown old enough to know better, but old enough to have a much larger disposable income in order to be able to afford the ludicrous ticket prices.

It can be a help too.
I was in a couple of bands that used to get regular gigs at the Canterbury Arms (RIP) in Brixton which had a late night license. We specifically asked for dates that coincided with gigs at the Academy.
We flyered the Acedemy queue as people went in and that guanteed a full house four our gigs.
The best crowd we had were fresh from seeing The Pogues and it was glorious chaos.
We finished off with an improptu cover of Ace of Spades and the place went mad as soon as my bass intro kicked in.

That makes sense if you are not directly clashing time-wise with the 'main event'. If there was a late licence and you could get punters in after the 'big' gig then that sounds ideal as they'd already be drunk. One of my band's mottos - 'the drunker you are, the better we sound'.

I think there was a Maiden tribute band at the Cart and Horses the night before Maiden played the London Stadium which was perfect timing too!

Curious. I watched that through and was a bit puzzled by her last line.

Paraphrasing - Bands like Oasis should be considerate of other events when they decide where and when to put their shows on.

Seems to me that nobody would ever be able to do a big gig if they tried to get a date when NOTHING was on anywhere nearby. Perhaps it might be smarter the other way round, and don't try and hold an event nearby on the night of a huge gig, especially if you are relying on walk-up business from flyers you've given out outside.

My band would always look and see what big rock gigs were going to be in town and avoid booking competing gigs when we knew half or more of our crowd would be in Hammersmith or Wembley.

The Monsters of Rock weekend was always worth avoiding too!

I've never been an uber fan of Oasis but my respect for them has risen on account of causing this soppy woke cow to take to the Internet  and moan about the unfairness of it all.

If you were that good love you'd create some interest, not EVERYBODY in Edinburgh went to see Oasis.

I'm not convinced that is not part of her stand up set. That has to be a fucking joke, surely?

Oasis need to plan their gigs around a 50 year old 'performer' with an identity crisis doing shows for a niche audience of no more than 50 people on a good night? Fucking hell 😂

What a shitty self important attitude for her to have. Especially considering the whole Edinburgh festival takes over the city every year. Bet she doesn't spare a thought for anyone inconvenienced by that.

Probably the most publicity she's ever got- off the coat tails of Oasis, ironically.

Plus of course, I bet some people bolt days on to their trip to go to some fringe events either side of their Oasis gig. So the better acts will arguably benefit from them being in the city.

Can you imagine how unfunny her show would be?

Got to love people that just state they are shite. Pointless to comment at all, surely?

I’m a fan. Nostalgically remind me of decent times and the first band I didn’t inherit from my parents.

I went last Sunday at Wembley and had a fucking great time. They were really good. They played 23 songs that everybody loved. That still didn’t include some (in my opinion) excellent songs that didn’t make the cut this time. But the best part of it all is everybody was there to have a good time. Didn’t see any aggro. Everyone in a good mood, and as I saw someone post on social media, it felt like a throw back to better times. No woke cunts, no palestine flags, no trans flags, none of any of that shit. Just people of all creeds enjoying themselves to good music. So what if it’s a singalong? That’s half the point, innit?

You might not like their music, but that doesn’t make them “shit”.

I personally detest Springsteen’s music, but I would say he was shit.

Oasis Quo are shite. Sing a long pop band.

You gotta take your time
You gotta say what you say
Don't let anybody get in your way"'

Hundreds of pounds to stand/sit in a football stadium with awful sound, miles away from the stage watching the big screens? Nah.
As I've got older, it's become clearer that many people that go to these things are not particularly interested in the quality of the gig, but are more  concerned about just being there (FOMO?), and having a good time with their mates.

I was amazed when these dates first went on sale. Number 2 son's girlfriend was DETERMINED to get tickets. Loads of devices online in the queue and willing to pay whatever was necessary (still didn't get any). Wasn't even born until the 2000s.

These days if the choice is between not going or shite tickets up in the gods, I wouldn't bother whoever was playing. Even the top tier at the O2 feels as if you are sitting on the roof.

I saw Gary Numan in the Concorde 2 in Brighton recently (a few hundred people capacity?).
Ideal size venue.

I went to Friday's gig. His voice was incredible, in fact it was like going back to when I first saw them in 1994.

You'll have a great time. Very jealous about Chicago.
Went on Saturday.

I saw them at Heaton park and it was okish.

Earlier this month I saw Springsteen at the San Siro.

Let me just one of the gigs was by far superior than the other one.

Jumped on there, got two, then realised that I could get another two with the code. So went back on and grabbed them for my brothers, albeit in a different block rather annoyingly.

The first two cost £130 each, and the second lot were £100 each. Tickets were £150 when they were released, so not sure what that's all about. They're not restricted view or anything either.

Bet all the bods who done £400/500 on tickets are GUTTED.

Perhaps they'll do a celebratory cover of "Nice one, Cyril" in your honour.
