As a football club we are truly fucked. And I wonder now if its terminal.
What manager with any respect or sense would walk into that.

No he’s an English loser, just like you.

Re: Potter Out
Agree. Any manager (or DOF) worth his salt now will know after how it's shaken out for the last few, that he's going to get shafted, undermined, only given half of what he needs, ignored and thrown under the bus by the owner and chief executive from the moment he arrives until he leaves.
It's just an absolute poison chalice now. Only if your reputation is rock bottom will you come out of it better (MAYBE) than when you arrived. I think Moyes is the only one in the last decade. Allardyce was largely fine but every other manager is damaged goods after working for Sullivan. We aren't going to attract anyone good or capable of navigating all the shit to pull us out of this cycle of failure. People are only going to come for the money (Pellegrini) and that's not the motivation you want your manager to have. That's clearly why he bombed out. He didn't give a shit about West Ham. I think the same about Lop TBH.
We'll be bottom feeding in the manager pool for the foreseeable while this lot are in charge. Their reputation is in the gutter. This place is a graveyard for managers under them.

Re: Potter Out
You can change the manager as many times as you like. Fact is, some players in our squad are just not good enough.
If we get rid of Potter, we won't get a top class manager. No one currently in a job will want to come here with Sullivan's track record, plus, any manager that is currently employed, will not take on the job with a lack of funds.
This sh!t show is all down to the owners / shareholders.

everyone could see that Lopetegui was the wrong appointment, same way we see it with her mate CPP.
They’ll desperately try to see this season through to his break clause so they can get rid for free.
It's the only thing that makes sense. She knew the dwarf didn't rate him so why push so hard for such a total clown when you're putting yourself into the crosshairs?

Re: Potter Out
The one positive I was able to say about Potter, is that we never looked like a team that would get tonked under him.
His first game, after a full preseason under him, and we get tonked, by probably the shittest team (after us) in the division.

Re: Potter Out
How the fuck do you go from looking pretty decent in the first half to playing like that in the second half? Absolute awful decline.
Really not seeing anything from Potter to give me hope that its not him that is the weakest link. If things do some to fruition and we do get in the 2 or 3 being promised then I suppose it means Potter then has nowhere to hide. I think up to now he has had excuses. Picking up the pieces from Lopetegui, then season ends, pre-season and now off again. Big changes in the squad, big transition.... I just wonder if Potter still has some time owed to him to get it to tick - Or time to show he isn't up to it.
Like everything with West Ham it is complex and foggy and just downright bloody complicated.

Fans already wishing the season away.
AFTER ONE GAME.
His position is totally untenable. The player's will likely see a dead man walking, they know the signs, so won't be trying.
There's nothing to gain by seeing if this clown can improve on 5 wins in 20. I'd back Harvey Price to beat that.
Just get him out.ThickClit I'll back Harvey to have more brain cells than you
And I know what you'd do to him if you could get him tied to a tree.

Re: Potter Out
If Potter goes the replacement will be worse in my opinion.
I’d hate Dyche anywhere near our club and the other one that Sullivan likes apparently is Steve Cooper who I can’t stand either.
Rather they backed Potter with some players and we try and stick with him for now because tbf he’s managing with one hand tied behind his back at the moment..

Changing the manager would make sense if there was confidence a better one would be found. Could they do worse? No would be the logical answer but we managed to get Potter after Loppy. And Loppy after Moyes. Moyes and 2 seasons due to the emergence of Rice and help of COVID was the exception really. We have been spending money on recruitment but its always been “scattergun” and our we remain as serial strugglers if truth be told.
Our relegation seems where we are headed yet again. We just cannot get out of this downward spiral. Potter will be gone this season, sooner than later, and the next manager will arrive but nothing will change. The next 2 weeks of the window will tell us everything about Sullivan. I expect one player only coming in for midfield. Even if he’s decent, it wont be enough. We need a complete rebuild in there. It’s amazing how difficult we make getting a new manager in. No other club has that hang up. Look at Palace. They’ve got rid of some arguably good managers (Viera, DeBoer etc), even unfairly some would say. But they put the club first. They don’t put their friendships first, their reputation of “not tapping someone up” or “honoring contracts” etc.
Palace chairman just says it how it is. They are a small club and can’t afford to risk relegation under any circumstances. And if it looks like it’s not working, it’s not personal, we just have to change it because we can’t buy you 11 new outfield players next week to make your life easier
it’s simply that. If there is one thing Sullivan could do to remotely redeem himself is to act very quickly here. For the first time in his West Ham tenure, we will know in about 3 or 4 games how this season is going to go. (Mots of us know now and knew in May). Far better for Potters career as well if he goes early.
the funny thing is, it does show Sullivan/Bradys intentions for us. The question should be will this team get into Europe this season? Not will this team make top 10 or scrape survival. If we can’t see this team making Europe, get rid NOW! There are plenty of coaches in Europe good enough to make Europe with our squad this season and don’t have a 25% win ratio over the last 6 months like ours does.
In fairness, you absolutely lambasted Palace for giving Vieira the bullet, and even insinuated it was due to his race. An extraordinary claim.
Best decision that club has ever made, getting rid of him, stabilising, then getting in Glasner. Good to see you've acknowledged that now.
