Not only that but it is a position they have wasted a big portion of a supposedly limited transfer budget on to make WORSE whilst the tortoise like midfield is still undressed.

Classic West Ham to sign a hopeless keeper from a relegated team.

It’s the classic chain we’ve talked about, isn’t it: terrible chairman appoints terrible managers, who buy terrible players, who play terribly. Except at West Ham it also happens in a terrible stadium.
Absolutely. And I cannot see a way out of it. At all

Directly responsible for four or five of the eight conceded in his first two games. That’s quite a start.

The new Allen McKnight. He’ll be benched by September.

He looks too small and lightweight. Supposedly he is super athletic to make up for it? Not tonight with  crosses? He punches like many keepers do but missed 2 with one leading to a goal. Thaf said, we dont have a dominant aerial presence getting on the end of anything in and around the goal.

Will be imteresting to see if Mavros and Areola start the lge cup game and if they do any better?

All keepers have bad games, it just so happens he had one on debut. It only becomes a concern of it starts happening frequently, like Onana.

No reason to be overly concerned at this stage.

No there wouldn't because he didn't know the defence had no pre season and was coming back from injury, anyone with half a brain would have understood that..

There would be moaning. There's always moaning from somewhere.
Of course, but it was the wrong decision. I fully expected Areola to start, but more fool me expecting that inept cսnt to get it right.

I was wrong even feet who has less than half a brain has worked it out 😉
Yeah, I'm not even defending the decision, but he'd be getting coated off for picking Areola as well had he played and the same thing happened. Let's not forget how fucking abject he was against Man U in the US.

If Hermansen doesn't come good, then fuck me we've just made our problems worse and worse. At least it won't be anywhere near as damaging as the Kilman deal for the club if it doesn't pan out. Hopefully the boy will be ok.

I think picking him to play on Saturday was more a message for Areola. His days are numbered and he can find another club.

I was joking by the way.

I think he’ll do alright for us but Areola should have started just so Mads could get up to speed, he looked dreadfully short of practice.

Hermansen had just one pre-season game at Leicester, two weeks ago, having not trained at all for 2-3 months after his surgery, and having carried a groin injury since December. Joins West Ham, has a few days training but no pre-season matches and then immediately starts in the PL. There's no way that this would have happened with an outfield player. We'd better hope that this was the cause of his poor performance anyway because otherwise we're even more fucked this season.

Just returned from a groin injury, shouldn't have started and we now have 2 keepers whose confidence is shot after Areola's would have been boosted after Lille .. Great man management from the bloke that has a degree in it... Most of his decisions are wrong, cost games last season with awful subs... He rarely gets anything right

In a year to 18 months time we’ll all be moaning about the top class keeper from Parma we missed out on.

he seemed to me to have very slow feet moving sideways before diving, which is why he looked so stranded for the goals.
