Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

We won't sign any of them. Hthswtfoyc
hehehe... if I could choose two it would be Djaoui Cisse and Rocco Reitz....

but we also need a commanding centre back who can head the ball properly and a proper striker, Fullkrug and the waste of space wilson do not fill me with confidence!

Hopefully we'll get two on loan as well

If any of these players went to Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth or Brentford they would be sold for huge money in a couple of seasons time. Come here and we will be pushing them out on loan or selling for a loss.
Might as well not bother

The central midfield still the biggest priority by far imho but central defence is not without its issues for sure. Agree that Mavro (bizzarely) probably the strongest physically and aerially.  I would replace Kilman and put the Greek in as the central CB assuming we are still playing 3 back there.  He did manage to cut out the glaring ricketts towards the back end of last season but his decision making and timing of his aggressive jumps from defence will always be a risk.  He’s quicker than Kilman too ( not hard ) and dominates aerially against teams that pump in crosses/set pieces but not so confident in his work on the deck and continues to be guilty of a stray pass or two putting us in danger?

Eerie Decent" wrote: 21 Aug 2025, 18:50 As much as we do need a couple of midfielders, I really think it's not the area that's the real problem.

Those 3 centre backs are proper relegation fodder. Having a couple of new midfielders will not suddenly give Aguerd & Todibo the ability to head the ball, or give Kilman a yard of pace, or insert a defenders heart and bollocks into them.

We are going down with those centre backs. Our only hope, incredibly, is Mavropanos.
What's even worse is that this is probably the first time in 4 years we haven't brought in at least one new CB. You'd think that a blind squirrel would find a nut every now and again.

Given our most glaring need (and there are plenty of them) was the lack of pace in our midfield, why do we keep selling our half-decent mids at a loss and keep our shitter, slower ones. We've now shipped 3 midfielders and brought in zero. We've actively weakened the area that most needs reinforcements. We are a fucking parody of ourselves.

'Tracking this player'
'This player is a target'
'A bid is expected to go in'

Same old fucking words mean nothing, all talk no trousers, haven't actually done anything shit we've been hearing all summer with midfielders, only the players concerned are now getting more and more obscure.

Fuck off Sullivan. Do the honourable thing and fall on your sword. Sell up for a fair price to someone who cares about doing right by this club more than their own bank balance. And take Brady with you.

If (IF) that were true its down to neolithic levels of incompetence or curruption or both

But as the video says we have a HUGE buffer when it comes to psr but they are too cheap to do anything.  Just gonna live off that interest and any money that may or may not be in brown envelopes whilst the tram

Mad Dog, we’re strapped for cash and Sullivan/board doesnt want to borrow more I reckon even though he secured it for another season. The Kudus money was £35 immediate up front which was the reason he took an overall bad deal fee of £55 mill.   The purchases of Diouf and Hermadsson were total of £34 million initially and some add ons up to 20 for the keeper. Wilson we dont know but obviously not what they are saying and agent fee will be material to Salthouse and includes kickback to Sully.

Now I know they only pay amortisation costs but bake in agent fees etc possibly up to £15 million or more? will be cash going out from the £35 million cash coming in. Its actually more that is arguably unaccounted for and maybe sits in cash in the bank account? Hard to know but you can see the whole approach is like a market trader or Del Boy who pays his debts straight out of cash he gets for stuff he sold?

The HITC video points to amateur, small time operation we ate.
