Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Even just the midfielders would give us a chance.

Absolutely hung his manager out to dry by giving him the bare minimum again. Well, less than the bare minimum as the bare minimum was at least one midfielder to make this team function.

All correct, but Potter doesn't help himself with his rigid formation and no plan B. If Sullivan is making the deals and Potter is determining the very precise profile of players needed, it's no surprise that we can't make signings that improve the team without one of them suddenly becoming much, much more flexible.

As absolutely fuck all seems to be happening - we tried bollocks incoming - are they actively trying to get the club relegated. Other teams with smaller grounds, smaller everything all seem to be buying players in the £30m bubble and yet we seemingly cannot compete there. We all know where the problems lie but mainly in the old and slow as fuck midfield being the main culprit and yet no new additions. Yet loaning Alvarez, scored the winning goal in the CONCACAF gold cup and won player of the tournament, rather than selling him, frees up wages, how does that help with actually BUYING players. All lies and smoke and mirrors I know but also why sell Kudus so cheaply, Spurs were desperate after Maddison's ACL and yet after turning down £50m, rolled over and had our tummies tickled for £5m more. An still no movement on any incoming at all, just shitty rumours that have no substance at all. Rumours on so many players such as McAtee, Luiz, Elliott, Fernandes, Ramsey etc all bollocks. I am now going to the pub as watching tonight's game needs to be done through a rather alcoholic haze to numb the boredom of watching Potters attempt at putting a team out.

Nothing naive about it fraser, it's hope/desperation that your fears are misguided, you have to be like that if you're going over there.

I'm exactly the same every summer if it's a new manager in charge, clean slate and all that, try to be positive. Obviously with him we saw a bit last season, but you have to hope that was more the situation he walked into. Sadly not.

The bloke is a flake. A nice flake, but a flake all the same.

We are letting arguably the strongest midfielder go out on a shit loan with no idea who to target to replace him. In the last 48 hours we have been linked with 10 midfielders.

Its an absolute fucking mess, Sullivan can't sell and can't buy.

We will get played off the park tonight and the toxic atmosphere here on in will lead to us spending all season in the bottom three and it's all on that useless dildo dwarf cսnt
Relax...take a chill pill

Leaving everything until the last 10 days of the transfer market by putting in multiple bids even if they are just pissing into the wind is definitely the way to go.

Just throw the plate of spaghetti with meatballs against the wall and whatever sticks is an absolute fucking result.

The reassuring, sure-fire indicator that the running of our club is in very good hands indeed.

As mentioned we have shifted a bunch of players some of whom like Fabianski , Ings & Antonio would have been on much higher wages than the incoming
Shifting Alvarez for wages space is bollocks
Fine if the manager doesn’t rate him to move him out but that’s more out with no one in to repair our threadbare midfield
Any lack of buying is due to lack of will & funding
Another point laid out well in that video in comparison with other clubs
We appear to have ‘looked at’ & ‘explored’ about 20 suitable midfielders but none have had a bid on them that is in any danger of satisfying the owning club.
Even if we do something we will have wasted the first month of the season & another month getting players ready
Going to be a long hard season
As is we are in serious danger of relegation & if moved are made we COULD get to lower mid table
Unacceptable isn’t it?
Not that I want to support the board's position in any way, shape of form but it should be remembered that the year in which the club could afford to lose £200 million has already finished. West Ham's financial year (24/25) ended on 31 May and any transaction after that date will feed into the 25/26 accounts. Assuming that this will be another crap season, we could be in big PSR trouble (assuming the rules are still in place) at the end of the three year period 2024 - 2026. Especially, as we have no valuable assets left to sell - other than the woman's team.

All the above is, of course, the result of years of mismanagement and under-investment.

From those clubs, have seen the media state that ourselves, Villa and Leicester need to sell players.

We are at the complete opposite end of the table than those clubs.

Even Forest are spending alot on wages and are continuing to Buy.
