Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

ExWHU update.

6 bids in. Bissouma, Magassa, Hackney, Timber, Fernandes, and Makau.

None close.

Potter safe as of now.  Irvine might leave, Guido likely to. Füllkrug was a tactical sub.

I read we had accepted whatever Wrexham had offered for Irving (next to nothing if not nothing) but he hadn’t agreed to the wages they are offering
Seems we are also unable to generate any fee for an Italian international who has won every club trophy & is hardly ancient
More out, none in
Lucky Sullivan has taken charge!

He was given Ferguson in January who he hardly used, that's now impressing at Roma. And he was given £38M to spend this Summer and felt it absolutely critical that he go and spend that on a new Left Back and Goalkeeper we didn't urgently need first.

Bollocks to feeling sorry for him when he wastes money and a good opportunity to bring in a young decent Striker like that.
Again, you went fully in on defending lopetugui when others wanted him out. His transfer dealings are a big reason we’re in the shit now. I don’t understand how you defended that, but use everything posdible to hate potter - including Ferguson who was useless every time he got minutes - Wolves away as an example.
I guess it’s a sad reflection of how people interact online, you nail your colours to the mast and then stick to it, using everything possible to show that you were right.

Bringing it back to Lopetegui yet again....

It wasn't working out and he got the boot, Potter is now doing even worse with much less pressure on him by comparison (as well as not having to deal with a family bereavement). So it's alright to fuck Lopetegui off but stick with Potter?? 😂

That ain’t my point. Loppy did shit, Potter is doing pony. I’m just  excited to see whether you’ll be cunting off or backing to hills whoever comes in next - and spending 100s of posts doing so.

In the limited time he got, I saw very little of Irving to want rid of him. If anything I actually wanted to see more of him and give him a fair go. He never got that. Wish him well.

Emerson reportedly on 90 a week. Rodriguez on 75. Probably enough to subsidise the wages of Sterling when he turns up.

Good riddance to all of them tbh.
Bit of an overreaction to Emerson and Irving imo.

more importantly is that we look no closer to replacing them with better quality.

In a Pep Man City Team he could carry a luxury player like Paqueta with the quality around him. When there's pressure in the Prem, Paqueta typically folds like a pack of cards. In a struggling Team like us in the Prem, he goes hiding. Granted he scored a rare belter early doors in the 6th minute but where the fuck was he for the other 84.... 😶‍🌫️

That was his 1st goal or assist in 16 League games. Shocking.

Most fans seem to rate Paqueta but yes he often give the ball away cheeply and poor form for most of last season, one might say for obvious reasons. However, Pep wanted him. And now, could be just rumours, but Aston Villa,Everton,Newcastle and spurs are showing an interest. Is there some thing we are missing here. Sorry about the bloody icon.

Thank fuck sullivan is finally taking charge of the signings.  Its about time he stepped in and took control.

At least now he's doing it the transfers will be quick, decisive and efficient.  He'll know exactly who we need and he'll pay top dollar to get them right away using a variety of scouting sources and agents.

We're saved

What a cսnt

He had from January to the end of the season to work out that our problem was a turgid midfield that needed 2 or 3 replacements
With a week to go what funds he did have haven’t addressed that at all

The crying poor owner is responsible for our current state.
Potter is a gormless buffoon unable to see the bleedin’ obvious
Both need to go or we are nailed on to be in the Championship
Only got lucky the last two seasons due to the dismal promoted teams
That luck has run out

Was reading that Mukau of Lille was carried off on a stretcher after a heavy knock early in their win over Monaco
Lille have sold a lot this summer & have said the door is closed on him & another player unless they receive a ludicrous offer
Not from us, SON

Could have bought him after we played them if not before
WE TRIED… not really

Like Alf said, I think it’s only loans that’ll come through the door now. Sullivan won’t back a manager he may well have to sack with any more permanent transfers. We don’t own the stadium and have only two genuine playing assets in Bowen and Paqueta- no guarantee Sullivan wouldn’t sell them. The only leader on the pitch with a bit of edge to him that you need in a relegation struggle is Wilson- how long before he falls out with Potter. These are truly desperate times. Sullivan won’t invest in the team, we are somehow skint despite having two business geniuses at the helm, the manager is unravelling and we have a team of nice chaps who can’t dig in. Oh and every set of fans we encounter, home or away, will mercilessly take the piss out of us. Pretty hard to explain to any kid why he or she should start supporting West Ham.

Wrexham have had an offer for Irving accepted apparently. Should just be a loan. Could come in handy in the likely event we end up in the Championship next year.

One solution albeit short term and temporary ( which is Sullivan’s MO ) is to throw away / offer big loan fees  and pay the big wages of Elliott and Bissouma ( no 8 and no 6 ). High risk but with our inability to attract or pay for Macaulay targets ( Sullivan hence talks about him getting “stuck in” bevause he cannot get or doesnt want those kind of targets, oh and btw, in April it was leaked we didnt want a DOF because Hussilos and Steidten had failed( they werent empowered DOFs anyway) and Sullivan was taking on DOF role !!) . So if Elliott and Bissouma want regular football they might come on loan assuming we get no one in the next 7 days?   Not ideal and there would not be a purchase option on Elliott but they ate proven Prem players and a mitigation against relegation even though we would throw 10 million+ down the drain its better than relegation cost?

desperate times call for desperate measures and these loans depend on no other club beimg interested in them
