Gravesend and Northfleet F.C. (sadly recently renamed after the local railway station). If you think West Ham's ownership is a circus you should see what we have endured here in North Kent. At least since our drop into the National League South I have been able to enjoy a beer whilst watching the game. There is a faint possibility I may drop in at Hampton and Richmond at the weekend, should things go to plan. Last season I visited Wealdstone but no sign of the Raider. Didn't realise he posted on here. Very nice 2nd hand record shop on the High Street which turned out being the highlight of the day.

Chelmsford Chieftains Ice Hockey. Always a great way to spend a couple of hours.

Used to go to see London Broncos in the Summer at Fulham and later at Charlton.

Plenty to be positive about around your club then, particularly regarding supporter involvement to keep it going, make improvements and even fund a player. Having a permanent ground however is key and it's good to hear that may be resolved at some point in the future. You're still part-time? That's a special niche to be in in the National League, though I guess you'll pick up those who do want to commit but can perform at that level. We went down last year as you know. We've had five managers in the last three years - all playing different systems. None of the changes lead to an improvement and although the CEO does fan forums and sits with the away support on the road and exchanges opinions openly, and therefore is generally liked, you have to say that some of the blame has to lie with him. Fourty two players went through the squad last season. That clearly isn't a recipe for success.

Air Jordan was something else, Fucking hell the NBA then had some great characters at that time, Jordan, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Sir Charles Barkley, Malone, Kareem, Magic, Isiah Thomas, Muggsy Bogues, Shaq and Kobe. I struggle to name any of the current lot, just Stephen Curry and Lebron?

Redskins since the early 80s, the Bulls because of Jordan (been absolute shit since), Wigan RL because of Ellery Hanley, Rangers because of Davie Cooper, haven't been to the ground but love watching Dorking Wanderers on the bunch of amateurs channel

The Kuwaiti owner lost all his dosh on the failed bid to set up Paramount World or whatever it was on Swanscombe marshes. Some lesser spotted larvae did for him. (Interesting place, Swanscombe. My son's friend who had lead a very sheltered life was offered a blow job by a young lady outside the local shop if he would buy a bottle of cider for her. I digress.)  I think first Kuwaiti sold the club to his brother for a quid or some such. To be fair they were only really in the football side to develop the rest of the area. They are hoteliers by trade. I hear the first brother is being done for fraud regarding the development company. The second one wants out and the club is now exploring new investment partners (i.e. it's for sale). Meanwhile there is another massive waterside development for this former industrial area on the Thames (sound familiar?) backed by the council to include housing, shops and a new stadiium. I've seen the drawings. Who knows if that's all it will ever amount to? And who will do well out of it?

By the way, beware the 'fan ownership' model. Brilliant...for one year. Then everyone has to put their hands in their pockets again and bingo, the club goes bust.

Wealdstone must be one of the smallest grounds I've visited but the support is very vocal and very partisan. You've got a decent bar which was doing a good trade, TV screens everywhere for the lunchtime football and a friendly reception for away supporters. Apart from the grumpy ticket seller and the result (4-2 having been ahead twice) it was a good day out. Sounds of the Suburbs was immense. I managed to collar two Brian Jonestown albums in very good nick for £50. Sadly a bit far for me to make a regular trip though.

Danny Kedwell. Surprisingly agile for a big fellah and could probably pick up a couple of defenders, one under each arm. Did a good job for us for a couple of seasons. I remember you had a chap called Sohna who was very good. Did you manage to hang on to him?

Sohna was an ex Aston Villa youth prospect who on loan from Cheltenham town.

He was decent enough but somewhat inconsistent.

The other goalscorer that day was Alex Reid who had come back for a second loan spell which was funded by the supporters club.

Ths stones squad is generally made up of loans from league clubs prospects signed from lower down the pyramid and those who dont want to go full time pro.

Last season was somewhat different as it was the first season hybrid and Matt Taylor was appointed who then signed the likes of Adrian Mariapa and a few others who were injury prone of past the sell by date.

He ended up being lured to Solihull moors mid season which was probably a blessing in disguise and we ended up staying up (at the expense of Dagenham ) on the last day of the season.

This year the budget has been cut again but they started off with three wins (narrowly lost the last two) and have re appointed Sam Cox as coach.

As for the ground it was originally Ruislip manors old ground and in a terrible state when the club first moved in back in 2008 following a nomadic 17 years but gradually it was brought up to standard with the efforts of the fans and the size of the gates grew as a lot of the locals developed an interest

Unfortunately the landlords will only give short rolling leases so the full lottery funding etc cannot be tapped into.

The plan however is to move to a new stadium a couple of miles down the road by Hillingdon station and the council have given an exclusivity order on the site so hopefully with the help of commercial partners this will come to fruition in next decade and hopefully sooner.

The club actively continues to look to attract investors but the make up and number of shareholders seems to be a off-putting to some.

DAZN are also currently doing a documentary on the club

I remember watching an overweight Danny Kedwell knocking a couple in and generally running the show including the ref one particular visit mid noughties in the conf south..

I follow Wealdstone fc regularly and occasionally go to QPR when there is a  spare ticket going  and im at a loose end.
I also keep an eye out for some other local non league clubs
where mates are involved.

I followed Wasps for a while when they were at Sudbury and Wycombe and have also seen them at Twickenham but that was more for me the social that the rugby...

I also remember going to rugby at Fulham when I was a kid
This sticks in my mind  again not because of the rugby but because of one particular episode following a Sunday game when the tube was held up due to a casualty on the track ahead and my uncle having had a few at the game was forced to go between carriages and piss in his trilby hat which he carefully emptied out when we finally got to Acton town
I could never quote make out why didn't just piss in the gap  but thought it best not to ask.

I've also been to the London lions basketball a few times which I really enjoyed and keep an eye out for there results.

I follow Middlesex in county cricket and normally go to three or four fixtures a season.
