Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

West Ham and AS Monaco reach agreement for Soungoutou Magassa

Image

West Ham United and AS Monaco have reached an agreement for the transfer of Soungoutou Magassa, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

The versatile 21-year-old Frenchman has agreed to move to the London Stadium to join West Ham in a €20 million deal.

The Hammers will part with an initial €17m for Magassa, with the other €3m coming in add-ons.

French outlet L’Equipe have claimed the defensive midfielder, who also features at centre-back, will be signing a six-year contract to join West Ham.

Hammers manager Graham Potter has been crying out for a defensive midfielder all summer, and he will be hoping the France youth international is the answer.

West Ham lost 3-0 to Sunderland in their opening game of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign before suffering a 5-1 defeat to Chelsea last weekend.

They are back in action tonight when they travel to Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the second round of the League Cup.

West Ham travel to Nottingham Forest in their third Premier League fixture of the new campaign, and Potter will be desperate to head into the international break with all three points.

It is unclear whether a deal for Magassa can be completed in time for the weekend game, but West Ham need verve and steel in the middle of the park as soon as possible.

Tackling and ball interception are the young Frenchman’s strengths, and he brings decent experience to the table after playing almost 80 games as a professional.

West Ham have added Mads Hermansen, Callum Wilson, Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf to their squad after signing Jean-Clair Todibo permanently, and they need more quality signings.

Magassa fits the bill despite his relatively cheap fee, and he will be eager to prove himself in the Premier League and force his way into the French senior national team.
Great another fucking DM, that'll add goals and excitement to the team,

Can someone tell cock piss aiming for 36 draws won't keep us up.

You aren't very bright are you. This is someone we need, someone who can sit in front of the back FOUR and offer protection as well as some much needed pace, aggression and power. This will then enable us to to play 2 more offensive midfielders so that we can start to create some chances for Fullkrug, Bowen, Wilson or Marshall. His addition, if it happens, frees us up. If we can also get another offensive midfielder in and maybe a CB, Charlie Cresswell, then we might have a chance to improve on our start this season.

He looks the part...hopefully a Cheyrou Kouyate type but with a bit more mobility and zip.

Interesting to observe that on the Transfermarkt website it says the agency representing him are "relatives"

Has our diminutive owner burnt his bridges so often that aside from Salthouse the only people he can deal with are the family of any prospective target?

The mind boggles 🤔

Controversial question maybe but is Magassa good? Never heard of him so intrigued to know what he's like. At least we're buying someone! 😲

Alright, if we've signed Magassa this is more like it. Fits the type of player we need, good age, big physical bastard, can play a bit. Get him on the fucking euro tunnel, sling him a shirt and play him tonight! Next to JWP, natch.

Sounds like a good deal. But this is West Ham and all my optimism has worn away. I expect him to be either shit or get a career ending injury

What do you mean "another" cdm

The only one weve got is Guido.  And hes shit.  I think potts is more of a pivot.  We need a ball winner with pace.

Ive no idea what this guy is like though, hopefully he'll be decent.  But I've little faith in out mob getting anything right at the moment

Only guarantee is that we know he is quicker and stronger than JWP, Soucek and Guido. Mind you my nan is quicker than those 3 and she’s been dead for 30-40 years.

We are a shit show, that's a fact.

If being relegated means we get rid of the owners then it might be a price worth paying. Let's face facts we always drift through the season and by February we are safe in mid table and out of the cup competitions, I'd love a season in the championship playing against proper clubs with proper fans not the fucking tourists who turn up at premier league games.

Sometimes you need to go down to rebuild, we could clear ourselves of all the dead wood and to be honest other than Bowen who else would you be sad to see leave? The youngsters will come through and we might get our club back.

Still just ‘exploring deals’ and ‘monitoring players’ are we?

Not like there’s only days to go in the window or anything. Fuckjng marvellous.

Now Sullivan is acting completely independent of his footballing staff apparently, it’s just even more of a recipe for disaster.

I didn't see the Lille pre season game but those that did, was it really a good barometer to judge him on up against our Team of misfits? Many people raved about him so I'm only going by that.

Was reading that Mukau going off on a stretcher after a ‘heavy knock’ was a blow to his hip.
Manager was saying he is ok & could play this weekend
Nothing muscular or broken bones

Lille have said it’s too late in the window barring a ludicrous offer
Weve dithered & it’s not happening obviously

boleyn8420 wrote: 25 Aug 2025, 23:24 Everton sign Grealish, then sign Dibling for £42m. This is the same Everton that had a points deduction. It seems to me if you had a points deduction (Everton and Forest) it gives you carte blanche to spend £150m on players the next season.
Whereas we sell/ get rid of 8 players, including one for £55m and get 4 players in, of which 2 are free transfers. Cunts
Isn’t that the issue though? The PSR agenda being pushed by the Owners is bullshit. That lengthy video that was posted on here last week suggested that some 200m could be spent and we would still be within the limit.

I don’t think Forest and Everton would make the mistake of inviting another points deduction.

Our income has been 7/8th highest in the league recently. 17th in the world rankings. Our wages are in comparison to income, one of the lowest. money can be spent. Sullivan just doesn’t want to spend it.

Sounds more like we are ignoring the scouting team and Sullivan and his cronies really are in charge.
either way it means we’ll end up with a few last minute loan to buy deals on extortionate wages.
because that worked well with Todibo right?
