We’ve been very slightly better side against Wolves Reserves. A poor, lazy tackle and penalty gives Wolves a lead they dont deserve really but they are.
Harsh on Areola to blame him for the rebound. He did have his body weight and angle the other way. It was an instant rebound that we allowed so who was nearest Gomes or did it just fall perfectly to him? If we did not react quick enough them thats the problem.
We are trying to play our way out of very tight spots with one or two touch passing but we are not quick and crisp enough with our passing and get caught.
I still see issues with our central midfielders being unable to play on the half turn so nothing can go thru JWP or Soucek. Paqueta has looked our best way to create when he comes deep and plays in Bowen. But Bowen is a wide right player at his best.
We need more central midfielders brought in. Even if we get the no 6 from Monaco we need a no 8 and even another one arguably. A central striker with pace and strength too is needed.
Btw, a “kiss of death” from me but Mavropanos looks our best defender.

Areola should never be beaten from that distance at his near post, more interested in ball watching as it goes past him too easy.
I don't agree I think it was just instinct the ball bounced off the post and he was by it and realised his whole goal was empty and tried to get back to cover it, he was moving in the wrong direction when the shot came back behind him. And couldn't change his direction and momentum.
The usual pattern. Give away a goal in the first half. Come out half asleep for the second half give away another goal, give up, get thrashed. How many more times?

Does anyone know if this is a strong wolves team? I have no idea how to judge what’s going on.
As Massive Attack mentioned earlier, we have 7 of the starters from our last game whereas Wolves have 4... so you'd have to think we've picked a stronger starting 11
Rodriquez is actually a tidy little midfielder. He's a decent passer of the ball. The issue is that ihe s just too slow and lightweight for top level English football, as the penalty he needlessly gave away just there demonstrated. Lack of paced gets ruthlessly exposed in rope level English football.
Insane that 'loser Lop' thought he was the solution and that pathetic Potter keeps selecting him.
