David Moyes
Re: David Moyes
John Drake » 27 Aug 2025 01:47The best of Moyes at West Ham was when he had Alan Irvine beside him. Once Irvine left it went to pieces.
Together they will probably do a decent job at Everton
Absolutely spot on, the stats at West Ham back that up. Irvine went part time in season 2 and then left to go back "up North" as his family were all there. We fell away in the league after that. Was not overnight, these things are gradual, bit like Taylor and Clough. Cloughy never got the same success without his right hand man.

It's our owners and their lack of a strategic, relatively streamlined succession plan which causes us to crash and burn everytime a change is made.
BBC five live and Talkshite purposely avoid mentioning this and nobody consistently pushes the argument either![]()
And our form from Jan 2024 to the end of the season which I believe was worse than Lopetegui's.

Re: David Moyes
Levy is showing that it's possible to sack your failing manager after he's won a trophy and then go on to improve.
Sullivan missed the boat with that, and we're now where we are.

Re: David Moyes
I expect it will all look rosy until they feel like he deserves a contract extension
Then all will all go to shit
30% possession, 70+ goals conceded per season with 20 defeats
West Ham Moyes in other words

Quit bumping your own thread, we're not interested in Moyes or fucking Everton until we play them.

Re: David Moyes
Not sure what his contract situation is but suspect these wins will get him an extension before it all turns to shit
