Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Probably been mentioned but understood the hold up on Sangare is us wanting a loan with an option & Forest wanting an obligation to buy

Happy with Fernandes but surely we can give JWP back as part of the deal as Southampton have less than a week to get a replacement

Feel like we need that more than Timber...we can't rely on Magassa hitting the ground running, and Sangare is oven ready (plus would let us play a two man midfield alongside Magassa).

Hopefully given Forest are open to a deal of some sort it's one that comes good last minute.

But lets be real...this is all a bit of "I'm up against the wall here RAZZLE DAZZLE" from Sullivan....even if this turns out ok and our season get's rescued we still need to turn up the heat on the prick.  He's made us totally unsustainable and unrelateable.
Have to say, I know next to nothing about Sangare, other than he’s a big fucking unit and quick into the tackle/likes to put his foot in. Which probably puts him above all other DMs we currently have!

He’s fallen out of favour at Forest, it seems, mostly because they have about three thousand players. So I’ve only seen him a few times. First impressions were that he’s decent.

Looked like we’d have to pony up 40 million for Fernandes anyway. Yes it’s a lot but it’s worth it if we get 6-7 years of good solid play out of him or he excels and we cop a rice-esque or at least a big fee for for him. It’s a better bet than 30 million for a 28 year old.

it’s good we are finally moving for players lke the penny has dropped for Sullivan that we will go down regardless of who the manager is if we do not invest in the squad.

Now a centre back of some quality and a young striker please.

Fuck knows why it took all this impending disaster for the board to finally open their dusty old wallets.

Agree that we’re overspending on Fernandes.

He’s an upgrade on the likes of Rodriguez and JWP, I’m sure. And I hope he does really well here. Welcome to the mad house, and good luck to him. We need him to settle quickly and improve us.

Nothing against us signing him.

But, having spoken to a Southampton mate about him quite a lot, he’s probably about £10m more than we should spend. Notice that almost nobody else was in for him at the price we’ve paid. That’s always a big clue.

We are not good at this sort of thing. But we all know that: we’re run by feckless eejuts.

Get Akanji for £15m

We need a number 10 and  a Striker still

*assuming these 2 CM's arrive.

Can't say Fernandes stood out much last season, he was pivotal in the worst side in PL history for me given how much they had spent etc.

I personally think it’s the system not the players that is the problem. Amorim is having the same issue with his insistence of a back 3. Both managers doing the same things and going nowhere in this league. And they seem to be both blaming their squads…

Even though a lot of our players are pretty dreadful, especially the CBs, the Strikers and current CMs, I agree.

I see little difference in playing 3 crap CBs instead of 2.  If anything you increase the chances of one of them making a cock up.

4 at the back is the most successful formation to play.

Noble was club captain in his last year and did not feature much.

he cant start if we need to improve.
The thing with a lot of managers is that if they get on with someone and they do exactly what they are instructed to do then it’s looks mad to drop them. It makes you look like an idiot. And ego is huge in some of these managers.

so I think we may feel that JWP isn’t great but Potter has made a rod for his own back. I will be surprised if JWP doesn’t start against Forest.

I wouldn’t be surprised if none of the new signings start against Forest either. He is a man that would rather fall on his own sword.

Mugassa also plays at centre back... Paqueta is actually looking like our best centre forward at the moment too, but a very low bar

We've done our usual thing of way overspending on the managers number 1 target.

I can't say I know too much about him, so I have no opinion on if I think it's going to work out or not (unlike the Kilman transfer).

They sold Dubling for £42 million, and their fans rate Fernandes as better. Hutchinson went from Ipswich to Forest for £37.5 million... So around par I would say this window... Unlike Kilman last window which was ridiculous

JWP is vice captain so he starts regardless
unless Paq is off only 1 of these new CM’s is ever going to start for us.
Are these signings enough to stop the rot?

Looks like although we can't sell any of our first team players to buy a new midfield, we can sell a whole team of ladies to pay for it. Such a move by our owner seems appropriate didn't he make his first fortune by exploiting women?🤔

I'd love to see a midfield 3 of Potts ( just to piss Ferret off ) Fernandes and Magassa. That would be the youngest midfield ever.

I'd love to see Charlie Cresswell show up as well.
You were on about us only signing one player on loan only a few posts back.

Clueless cսnt.
