Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Sorry, you can blame me for starting the Cornet puns.

I'd like to think I'm quite good at them, though.

Not that I'd blow my own trumpet, or anything.

Should have tried giving him a blow.
That would have stopped him being Mr. Softy

Great, then let him go back to Burnley for a fee. Would prefer to go on what we've seen of him here - and he has been a poor signing for us. Never seemed to understand the offside rule, for starters.
Exactly but he got a bad injury after joining us, so he was good enough when we signed him, had a couple of decent games and had that goal ruled out ridiculously against Chelsea.

So, you think he was a worthwhile signing because he had a 'couple' of decent games and once had a goal disallowed?

That's a low bar - even by our club's standards. His injury may have ruined him. But he was poor before that, and while at West Ham. I'm not bothered what Burnley fans think of him. Likewise, I couldn't care less that Southampton fans think the world of JWP. We've got to start demanding players who perform at West Ham. Not for other teams.
No I didn't say that I said at the time we signed him he was worth it and Premier League quality unless we had a crystal ball, I'm saying the injury he got ruined him... He's shit and not Premier League quality now, that doesn't mean he was a ringer of a signing at the time...

9 goals in 26 appearances for an abysmal Burnley in the Premier league would suggest otherwise... The injury ruined him.

I remember Cornet played very well at Sheff Utd away after his injury, but Moyes never used him again.

Cornet - I forgot we even had that bloke.

Nowhere near Premier League quality. Another absolute ringer of a signing.
