Station to station is prob my favourite album of his. All quality.
It's probably mine along with Heroes as well as it's a seminal album and has Golden Years probably my favourite Bowie track of all time on it and of Wild as the Wind (not written by Bowie).

Heroes has The Secret Life of Arabia on it. A real favourite of mine.
Stay is the tune on that album for me. Bowie apparently can't remember hardly anything about recording Station To Station as he was so off his tits.
Yes the last of the LA albums and the thin White Duke before apparently re-hab and the Berlin trilogy..

You see I think Stay is an awful track and I guess you have to be a real Bowie fan to like it.

David Bowie and Michael Jackson get the Paedo Pass as they still generate so much royalty money on playbacks.

Townsend and Glitter don't generate anything like those numbers so they get the Paedo Pillory.

Totally disagree. I think all his album have only 2-3 good tracks and the rest are mediocre at best. In fact Scary Monsters is the nearest he got to almost all the tracks being good. I don't count Let's Dance the big commercial sell out by Bowie. If you old man likes a Bowie track it's time to move on.

The first album I ever bought was Aladin Sane. Not a bad one to start off with. I ended up buying all  of Bowie's releases up to 'Tonight'. My interest had begun to wane when Let's Dance came out. I didn't bother listening to anything of his work subsequently until I caught up wth the documentary about his final album Blackstar, which I have to say is superb. I have since heard a few tracks from the long period I missed but haven't been that impressed by anything yet.

If you like Nile Rogers listen to him on Desert Island discs, also the episode of the rockonteures podcast when he was the guest. Both fantastic listens.

As for Bowie, in my eyes,Hunky Dory is one of the greatest albums ever made. His pre Ziggy stuff isn't to shabby either, both Space Oddity and The Man who sold the world are very good albums.

1980 is pretty early in that scene to be fair.

Side note:

I went to see Nile Rodgers on Sunday. I forgot just how many huge songs he had written and produced, including Let's Dance with Bowie. His set on Sunday was just one huge hit after another, some his and many many that he had written for others.

Bloke is some sort of alien genius...

If anything the song is having a go at fashion purists and the New Romantics in particular.
Absolutely bonkers guitar by Robert Fripp as well.
