Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

a few as opposed to just the two?
If Paqueta is pissed off, the proper question is "What's pissed him off and why?"

Same things that pissed Payet off? Both were happy to come to West Ham on the promise/project they were sold.

Seems like someone is not holding up their end of that promise...again.

I’m surprised Villa would want him when they had Asensio on loan & didn’t buy him.

Paqueta is a bit of a liability, who costs us as many goals as he scores/creates.

The fact that Villa is the calibre of club in for him is telling.

They just paid out £35m on Todibo, £20m on Diouf, £20m on a keeper, £38m on Fernandes and £17m on this new French kid.
They are investing in the squad.
Are they spending that money wisely? History suggests probably not but let’s be clear, they’re spending now because they fear relegation.

Fucking Sullivan.

Would be typical Sullivan to "leak" he doesn't want to play to turn the fans against him, don't believe it

Makes no sense.
relegate a club and reduce its value so you can then sell it??

Goose what do they own.? A training ground and a brand name at best. They ain't getting the OS. Nobody in their right mind is buying a Premiership club with no Stadium. (Let alone invest in a League where the richest owners on the planet are unable to put money into their club.) Can't get anybody to buy the Gold shares. The other owners have told him. They ain't putting another bean into the club. Just for him to spunk it away.

Sullivan has always been in the property business. And running us. Was the price of that business. Buy us. Move us. Sell the old ground. Buy the new ground. (When the price is right.) Sell us. Move on. Now that hasn't gone exactly to plan. We have become a burden to him. And every season he keeps us. It's costing him. But fear not. Look who his fellow co-owners are. People who have made their fortunes buying and selling Distressed Assets. And after 15 year. When (Not if.) we drop. Sullivan will still walk away from us. Quids in.
Sorry but that ridiculous. The value is the club and its registration to the PL. That gives access to hundreds of millions in revenue as we’ve seen. The club has one of the highest turnovers in world football.

relegation likely devalues his asset by more than half.

it hasn’t sold because of a combination of Sullivan over valuation and nobody making a serious offer at his price.

On the lower side the club is worth £600m, walking away from £300m because you don’t own the ground or you’ve had enough just doesn’t make sense.
it also makes the thing you’re trying to sell less attractive to buyers.

this is nothing more than Aguerd wanting to leave and Paqueta being made available at the right price because we don’t have the budget for the players Sullivan wants to bring in.

I just don’t know with Paqueta. He just doesn’t seem the character to force a move to Villa of all clubs. He has left all previous clubs on good terms, and seems genuinely passionate when good things happen at the club.

I probably don’t mind selling him at the right price if he is replaced, but while he isn’t perfect, we are devoid of players who can do something special like he can. I think our new look midfield can bring the best out of him.

It’ll be a shame for him to go in such circumstances but feels more like the board finding an angle to blame the player.

Aguerd can fuck off. Proper flakey melt.

Aguerd?  I fuckin hate that French-speaking surrender MONKEY.

I never rated the cսnt from day 1.  I'd have shoved his fucking backbone right up his arse, if he had one.  Put me in a room with him for 5 minutes, I beg you!  Slimy rat  faced vermin.

FUCK OFF OUT OF THIS CLUB.  And take Tobido with you on the way out.

Trouble is he is a very versatile and talismanic player in a squad bereft of personality. Plays 8, 9, 10, LW.

Would take at least two very talented players to replace the role he plays in the squad. He's also been our best player this year so far and scored 2 in 2.
He also made the most recoveries in our team last season, so while he does give it away he wins it back the most, oh and Viera of Arsenal ffs!

What case do we have against the FA? They investigated the claims, as they're meant to. If you're talking about the time it took, well they had to wait until the Brazilian FA did their trial first and then once that finished it was Paqueta's lawyers that asked for 3-6 months delay whilst they got their defence ready. If you mean the time it took to release the verdict, well that was at least 6 weeks ago, so we've had plenty of time if we wanted to sell him to get the price up.

Supppsedly interested in Charlie Cresswell of Toulouse
They are playing PSG tonight

Fine Aguerd 2 weeks wages & get the rat out
Might mean a back 4 tomorrow… with Chris Wood might actually be one game Mavropanos is suited for and we need full backs to deal with their wide players

The cynic in me can't help but wonder if a board that will get abuse could be saved by multiple players agitating for a move 🤔
