Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

The other view could be that the club has wanted to get rid of Paq for 2 years for £80m and hasn't been able to because he's been a fucking idiot with this FA business. He was only cleared 2? weeks ago. So there was a limited timeframe to sell and replace before the window closed, and it seems he wants to move  - when he owes us a good season.

*I know that's what Sullivan wants me to think.

I wonder if Emerson has just been causing so much trouble they just want him out no matter what. Sounds like he’s been a real dick since Diouf signed.

As for Paqueta the club are ‘making all the right noises’ publicly but it’s obvious they are a willing party to all this. Other clubs who wanted to keep hold of a wantaway player have managed. Newcastle and Brentford. So I expect us to be able to be similarly strong. Of course we won’t be and the pathetic message will come out that we just ‘couldn’t do anything about it’ while gleefully pocketing a load of money for Sullivan’s retirement fund.

I’d prefer we sell in January preferably to a Saudi club, and sell him for a fair price and bring in  the right replacement straight away. String Villa along though so they end up with nobody this window, payback for the Jhon Duran fiasco.

I’m more concerned with our center halves, the only one who can head the ball is Mavropanos ffs and he’s got two left feet. I’d much rather see us sell Aguerd and bring in a replacement this window.  Todibo was a bad buy, not sure what his position is but he ain’t a center half. There must be at least one in the Championship we can bring in as an upgrade to Aguerd and who can win a header or two to help our new keeper out surely.

Looks Like we dropped a bollock on the new goalkeeper He Looks like he shits himself every time a cross comes in to our box.

Anyone know how much longer Summerville is out for? And how about Cornet can’t we give him away ffs just get him off our books.

So many fires to put out and still no one who can step in and step up to lead the team, Let’s hope these two kids we just brought in can do an immediate job for us in midfield, can’t fall too far behind the rest.

Still onwards and upwards!

It’s a fair point re Duran. We certainly shouldn’t be looking to do anything at a discount to Villa. Unless the alternative it he’s sold to Spurs!

I hope he hasn’t thrown a tantrum. If he has, it’s difficult to keep him. He plays about enough as it is giving the ball away, without being less motivated.

IF we can get a creative replacement in 24 hours, maybe it is best to get our money back and move on. He’s been ok. Brilliant at times, dreadful at others, but I do like him, and we need mavericks in an otherwise dull, methodical team.

Pro sale: hasn't been any good the past two years. Showboat, fiver and loses the ball to often.
Cons sale: going to a PL club, to late to get a decent replacement, leaves us short in midfield, Brady promised not to sell
it's a loan so they don't have to spend any more money this window, and remember the cunts still haven't replaced kudus. we're a certainty for the drop, and jarrod will be the next to go in january

How can we do such bad business all the time. He has been a good signing for us, is 31, you must still be able to get a few million quid! There is surely league two players going for more at the same age.

I would think he's been let go for a small fee so the player can negotiate a better package with marseille. He could go for free next summer, and now he's off our wage bill. It's a shame as I would have rather kept him this season.

Summerville in full training. Should be back after the international break. Though doesn't fit the system.

Cornet...Genoa want him, but only offering 33% of his wages. Club holding out for more.

Last update from Ex last night:

We have finally heard from the top source at the club regarding Paqueta and it is a bit of mixed news. I am going to put it out with very little comment because I don’t really know how to take it.

“He will NOT be sold this window even though he wants to leave”.

1. Haggle over players and put in low ball bids for weeks until the last week, to "save" on wages.

2. Panic after an awful start to the season caused by point 1 and not addressing the squad deficiencies in pre-season.

3. Finally open dusty old wallet and splash out on a couple of much needed players.

The last part of his MO is to pull a last minute sale, loan out,  release or two just as the transfer window shuts.

So expect to see Emerson, Cornet, Irving and Rodriguez to go. And it wouldn't be surprising if Paqueta is sold just as the window closes. Nothing is beyond expectations with this odious little squirt.
This is all so laughably predictable. After 15 years of seeing Sullivan's MO I called this shit days ago. Paqueta is bound to be sold with no time to replace.

Fucking hate all this transfer window shit. Can't they just go back to meeting at a Motorway service station with a brown envelope full of readies then the next day we would hear that we've signed so and so.

That's exactly what they'll want you to think..

Meanwhile Emerson signs for OM €1 million.. Including add ons.. Sold by Dr. Evil

No one is making me think that, we've all seen how he's performed since he missed out on his move to Man City.
I've never seen him stop putting the effort in so no, if he'd been lazy yes but he hasn't... He's the player with our most ball recoveries and you can't do that without putting effort in. Off form yes but you don't put effort in if you're sulking

I don't think many would disagree with that..

The ex message just sounds like more teeing up, more noise... With the added 'no time to replace him'

Surely he goes, surely for less than we've said we wanted and surely without replacing

From ExWhu

Paqueta Update7mWe are trying to get clarity from a number of sources to give you the accurate picture of what is actually going on with Paqueta. At the moment we have only spoken to two West Ham sources and they deny that they have accepted a bid and are quite annoyed with the reporting of such a thing from Fabrizio Romano. The club are denying that they wish to sell the player and have always maintained if they did it would be for no less than £60m (I guess the overall loan package could be around £60m) all in and that replacements would need to be lined up, which I don’t believe they are. Whether Paqueta wants the deal or not is unclear and I guess this could be the deciding factor.  As it stands I don’t think a bid has been accepted and as far as I know he will still be available for the game tomorrow.  Things can change dramatically in football so we will keep you updated.
