Romano Reveals West Ham Deal at Ridiculously Low Price
Football ITK Fabrizio Romano has been looking more like “IDK” with some of his recent West Ham transfer posts.
That said, his early morning revelation that Hammers full-back Emerson is set to join Marseille does seem a safe bet. Posting on social media, Romano wrote:
“Emerson Palmieri to OM, here we go! Deal done now between West Ham and Olympique Marseille. OM will pay €1m total package, add-ons included. Green light now from #WHUFC to travel. OM close deal for Emerson Palmieri wanted by Longoria, Benatia and De Zerbi.”
Still, at least it clears his wages off the books I guess? By my reckoning, that’s now close to £1m per week saved in wages since the end of last season.
Emerson’s been a good servant to West Ham, but for whatever reason neither Julen Lopetegui nor Graham Potter seemed keen to make him a regular.
With this move now done, expect Maxwel Cornet, Andy Irving and Nayef Aguerd to be the next through the London Stadium exit door.
