Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Yes, shareholder loan interest charges are now zero and have been since November 20221, when those loans were repaid.

Of those repaid loans of £53.5 million, £44 million attracted interest at 4%, £9.5 million were interest free.
Im sure at one stage the loans were accruing at 8% and when there was a public outcry they graciously reduced the rate to 4% because they loved the club so much.

8% was a decent market rate when the loans were given. I would say the owners were a little tardy in reducing the rate to 4% (maybe they took this piss for a year), but 4% was a decent market rate thereafter. You can complain about them taking any interest at all - most owners don't,  but the rate was NOT usurous.

What Sullivan has done is correctly judge that the asset value of football clubs in general was going to go sky-high and that the Olympic Stadium was a white elephant that would inevitably accrue to West Ham's advantage. He then did the very minimum to keep West Ham's PL status and thus accrue a vast, though as yet unrealised, capital appreciation.

I don't think he has actually 'gouged' the club in any way, but he has been a skin-flint owner.

Not sure about that. If they aint going to sack him off the back of 3 bad losses to Sunderland, Chelsea and Wolves going out the Cup 1st game (same as in FA Cup), as well as a poor half of the season with zero pressure with a shocking win ratio, then they won't get rid of him anytime soon. He'll probably see the remainder of his 2 year contract out now. 🎪

Kiss goodbye to the idea of Mourinho rocking up.

IF and a big IF he is anything like fit we could do worse than have him around on play to pay. However, I have no idea what hoe progress is or know if he's ever going to be capable of playing back at this level so......

According to the salary estimates of Capology, we've reduced our annual salary budget by about 25%....shaving pretty much £25m off the annual salary budget.

The correlation between league places and wage bill is supposedly very strong...so dramatically cutting wage bill could be a notable predictor of decline in expected league place.

Cant say I'm impressed by our business today. I'll give Igor the benefit of doubt as I've had to watch Kilman for a year. Have to give him a chance. Fernandes a good addition, Magassa I'm hoping will adapt to the league quickly. Diouf is settling and showing his quality. I hope Summerville and Guilherme can bring direct play and pace. Guilherme isnt a wing back. When he is back from injury, he needs a chance.

I am worried about not having a younger speedier striker, I do think another quality midfielder would have been good but we couldnt shift dead wood we paid silly salaries to.

I think our new keeper will prove to be half decent. Perhaps not peak Fabianski but Aerola was shocking in pre season.

It's not a team that is winning much but if we steer clear of injuries to Bowen and other key players we will be mid mediocrity and not relegated. Expect another shit transfer window in January.

Another window. More millions of pounds invested. Yet they claim he’s the worst chairman in the league. Fucking melts. They don’t know they are born. They wouldn’t last one window under Sullivan
Bad comparison. Daniel Levy has never invested a single penny into Tottenham.

Is it though? Not investing but running the club a million times better so it’s not even necessary. There is always money available for numerous signings and he always gets good prices for departing players. Makes it even more damning for Sullivan. Let’s not pretend he’s pumping his own money into West Ham and he’s pretty much running us into the ground. Levy is a cսnt but he’s leagues above Sullivan in his ability to run a football club.

Blimey, Igor is a desperately poor signing if that happens.

It really beggars belief at how we continually bring in such shit.

Been a piss poor window. Compounded by Potter clearly having zero interest in our youth players.

There really isn’t any building blocks at the club to feel positive about. Just another desperate shuffle of the pack to suit a shit manager that most likely won’t see the season out.

It always baffles me how those cunts moan about levy, they spank loads of money on transfers, they've challenged for titles, they've got a great new stadium

But yeah he's run them into the ground

But yeah he's worse than sullivan according to them

Cunts.

Didnt see it on the bbc list of deals done & nothing on the o/s

I see the Guehi deal has now collapsed because Igor didn’t go to Palace.

So no extra midfielder or striker
So by nicking what looks like a donkey from under Palace's noses we've basically strengthened them.. You have to laugh..

Think I'm still on a high from yesterday's performance but I think it's been a decent transfer window.  Things are moving in the right direction in regards to signing younger players.  Who needs Kudus when you have Summerville?

centre half we have a collective of error prone defenders.
centre forward we’re reliant on two injury prone forwards staying fit.
sold Kudus & not really replaced him. If Bowen or Summerville get injured we’re fucked.
GK I will reserve judgement.

You ungrateful oik, we kept Paqueta... Do you think we've been played by the little cսnt with the whole Paqueta business..
