What a performance this was - David Cross at his absolute best!
FA cup win in 1980, division two champions at a canter in 1981, then this! Those were the days - were any of you lucky enough to be there?

Yeh, great night indeed. Took the piss as usual.
Kicking off in the Shelf (Brother, Cousin etc..).
Coins flying everywhere and running em ragged outside.
We all went Northumberland Park on the way, for
the surprise element iirc.
A good result both on and off the pitch.

Also remembering Maxi Miller lunging into David Cross. An absolute animal of a player.
That season we finished 9th and they finished 4th.
They may well have won the war but we certainly won the battle on that night.
Just to rub salt into the wound, I think they may have won the FA cup that year.

I was on the Shelf that night. Didn't celebrate for the first goal but by the time the third and fourth went in there was no holding back. Partly because we realised that quite a lot of us were in there incognito.

If I remember correctly it was a midweek game. I was up in the Lake District on a late holiday with a few mates. The next morning we managed to get hold of a paper and find out the result 0-4 we couldn't believe it.
Irons!
Irons!

I was there. Coins raining down on us from the Shelf above.
Was chaos in the streets afterwards too. Closest I've ever been to a charging copper on a horse with baton raised.

Y’all obsessed with Sp*rs.
I’m a bit obsessed with the John Lyall era, as they were my formative years. Coincidentally, they were also great times to be a West Ham fan!
I was living in Lancashire at this point, so I was having to wait for the BBC vidiprinter to tell me the final score. Any away game where the home team got nil was always exciting!
1981 - we didn’t know how good we had it.

Lucky bastard. I was there when we won 0-3 with no Striker at their old ground and 1-2 in the Cup with Maiga of all shit Strikers scoring the winner. I actually saw us complete the Hat-trick of wins that season against them when even a young Harry Kane scored his 1st ever Premier League goal in Spurs colours in their own goal under Allardyce of all managers. Fond memories.
