Incorrect. All men are CREATED equal. The choices you make determine the worth of your soul. This is why free will is the greatest gift ever bestowed upon us, and also why certainly Heavenly characters view us with envy.

Spot on.
Ditto the Post Office scandal and the years of continued trust in an IT system, that was absolutely fucked.
The idea is just a placater that will have zero effect on the problem it’s supposedly going to tackle. ‘Supposedly’ as Labour have long had the idea of introducing them and this (their ineptitude at solving the problem by other means), is just the excuse needed.

That's exactly the point I was making. It wont stop at being a basi ID cards,it'll encompass everything about us apart from our fucking shoe size.
Your shoe size will probably be used as a factor in deciding what your car insurance costs.

Do you think Digital ID would be used to track how many pork chops you’ve eaten this week & freeze your bank account if you have people round for a barbecue?
As said most of our information is out in the ether
Im in favour of knowing who is entitled to be in the country, who is paying their tax & death squads visiting those who haven’t paid their tv licence.
The fundamental point is that it CAN be used in such a way should someone so desire to do so. Because YOU wouldn't doesn't mean no one else would.
Don't argue with the data being out there, but it's still fragmented, which offers a certain level of security (unless certain dumb fuckers freely hand over personal information in exchange for a load of "free" stuff.
There WILL be a drive to include ALL personal information about an individual on such an "ID" card (/App), when the only info needed by the state is the right to live in the UK, the right to use state services (NHS/Benefits Office/etc.) and proof that all tax requirements have been met.
There will be a great push for "One card to reign over all cards" that fuck-wits will swallow with glee; the state will then threaten to withdraw the operating licences of any commercial institution that fails to hand over their customers' personal details.
Everything about YOU will be available to anyone authorised to access/view it (See the MoD and Afghan data breach for your obviously much needed comfort in this area).
This is not the future; this is what living in the now is all about.
"ID" cards need to be resisted at any cost...
...and to be blatantly honest, flying out all illegals the moment they arrive, to Whereverstan, would be far, far cheaper that the government's attempt at rolling out such a project (see HS2 for further clarification).

Like I said, let's wait and see.
I refused to use the app as I refused the ‘vaccination’. And I’ll be doing the same once slippery Starmer and his band of oddballs implement Digital IDs.

You reckon this Digital ID is going to reveal how many lengths of meat you put in your mouth each week?
So if they make an erroneous, completely-fuck-up-your-life decision based on a not-fit-for-purpose ID card (system), that's fine & dandy because it was a "technical/operational error" in the deployment of that system rather that an error in their "sincere beliefs" in the ID card system itself?
Right-o, after you with that one.
For fuck's sake!! How many more times? NOBODY (not even you, whether you're left or right leaning (or striving to be a model citizen)) has any control over data and information once it is sent out into the ether.

East Hammer, I've seen that caveat about it being at an airport, so therefore the officers were naturally armed.
That doesn't make it better though, it makes it worse.
They're armed because they are in a high security type area, and yet they are wasting their time and numbers, in arresting someone for telling a joke, that just a few years ago wouldn't have raised an eyebrow at comedy stand ups.
What the fuck has happened since?

Re: Graham Linehan nicked for social media posts.
XK.
No, I'm serious. I really dont think we will be issued with just 'ID cards'. Sure, that's how they'll start out but before long your bank details, health records and everything about you will be incorporated on to this card.
We have seen people jailed for opinions,a bloke getting off a plane to be met by coppers for a tweet and 30 people per day being arrested for what they post on line. If other measures to punish people for this kind of thing are introduced,ie temporarily freezing bank accounts then a hell of a lot more people are going to become very compliant.
In the name of environmentalism, we are told we are flying to much and eating to much meat, what better way of controlling such things as limiting our ability to purchase them.
Ranging from WMD to the never ending promises made to cut immigration and to the efforts to overturn Brexit, my faith and trust in politicians is almost non existant and i really do believe they (all) want as much control over us as possible. What better way is there than to have constant spending restraints dangling over us if we step out of whatever lines it is we are not supposed to cross.
Of course, course all of the above may well be turn out to be nonsense but like everything in the future,we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Graham Linehan nicked for social media posts.
The memory of COVID seems almost 100% erased from so many people. When you see what they were willing to do for a rebranded winter flu virus then you know anything is possible from the controlling lanyard classes.

only1billybonds wrote: ↑03 Sep 2025, 09:45 Yep,resist digital id. They can dress it up however they want but for them, its the ultimate weapon for control. It''ll be the biggest step taken towards a Chinese style social credit system.
Say the wrong thing, your bank account will be suspended.
Buy to much meat, your bank card wont work at Tesco.
Fly once to many times in a year, sorry, no more trips for you for a while.
etc etc.
Seriously mate that is paranoia
I like alot of what you post but please tell me you're joking there

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but just look at all those boxes repeatedly ticked on the monthly reports to parliament. Three cheers for British policing on delivering against precise requirements I say.

Probably needs 5 armed Coppers to arrest each vicious little tweet as well as Linehan himself who's suffering with ill health. Thank God we've got such an intelligent, brave and well respected Police Force to carry out such duties.

I guess the last time police tried to apprehend someone at an airport they got the shit kicked out of them
Dont quite understand given that this sort of heavy handed policing of social media posts of OPINIONS has been going on for a long time that the government would only come out now & say the policing of tweets should back off
Bit like Howard Webb coming out after the Chelsea game & pretending that re refereeing games for minor offences has only just occurred

Fair play to them for admitting that institutionalised stupidity is now routine.
To be fair, the explanation that the police were armed was because that "at an airport it is routine for police to be armed". Okay, fair enough but why did it need five! Was it a slow day or does it just symptomatic of the gross mis-use of manpower in the police.
