Re: Magassa
Agree that Fernandes looked out of position & seemed Paqueta was being played at centre forward at times
Need Magassa for some physicality with Fernandes central
Earthy is fit now & id have him ahead of JWP
Id have Doris the Tea Lady ahead of JWP but that’s another matter

That was Alvarez’s problem and cost him bookings with late challenges.
Obviously need to give him a few games / time and in an 11 man team but my initial reaction is that he will not plug the gap that Rice left. Its amazing that with all these analytics that we cannot seem to get pace in the team. It can only be down to the requirements being specified. If you are not looking for that attribute you dont get it.
He will be an upgrade on Soucek, JWP and Guido but not sure that is a high bar.Is lack of pace really stood out for me. I was watching him when he first come on and he was running in circles chasing the ball but not getting near it.
Reminded me a lot of that Alou Diarra we had for a period.
You still here? Prick
Re: Magassa
Hopefully as Feet is intimating, its a rash early judgement and he will learn his role and his pure size and physicality will see him improve us a team in that midfield. I mean Rodri aint super quick either but was and is still one of the best central midfielders in the world.
Fernandes needs to be played in his best position as a number 8 centrally. He has a bit of pace but we really need another athletic central midfielder. Another Rice or Caicedo type or the greatest of them all a Kante type engine getting about the pitch. Another transfer windiw failure along with no younger quick striker, a midget GK and no dominant, pacey, strong CB. Just got to pray Igor surprises us in a good way on the last one.

Re: Magassa
It's ridiculous to make any kind of judgement after a 25 minute cameo with us being down to ten.

Re: Magassa
Im surprised no one thought of signing him in July and let him play a few games preseason, get used to the formation, if one exists.. Still I'm sure he will pick it up as he goes along.
Do these last minute signings ever work out?
