Nigels West Ham vs Palace | PL | 20.9.25 | Predictions and Match Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

Well, after the false dawn of Nottingham Forest, and coming crashing back down to earth against Palace, we sit 4 defeats from 5 for the season so far.

Potter is under increasing pressure (despite the usual 'we back the manager' horse shit from the Club) and it's clear that "contingency plans" are being established, with a series of uninspiring names being thrown into the public domain....Bilic, Dyche, Nuno, O'Wall...the real next level fraternity of the Football Manager commuity.

With protests planned before the game (see here for details if you want to join) it will undoubtedly be an interesting atmosphere at the toilet bowl.

This looks like a bad game to run into at this juncture, with the Nigels being proficient at corners, and having concended only once all season.  Only a win is really good enough, but a draw looks like it will buy him a trip to Everton to take on the Moyes millstone which continues to sit heavily round the necks of West Ham.

If Potter has a brain, he'll go not just for the win in this game, but for some vibes as well, with a selection that at the very least inspires interest. Unfortunately I suspect JWP is first name down, Hermansen continues his demonstration of why you don't stick a midget in goal, and Summerville misses out.

Wan Bissaka is out with a nasty case of the shits, Soucek starts the three game ban, but other than that we're expected to be at "full strength".  No doubt there'll be a temptation to look to match up the Palace formation with a return to 3 at the back, but it feels this would be a mistake.

Predicted Lineup:
Hermansen

Walker Peters;   Mavropanos;    Kilman;     Diouf

JWP;   Magassa;

Bowen;         Paqueta;         Fernandes

Wilson;
Subs:  Areola, Todibo, Igor, Scarles, Irving, Rodriguez, Summerville, Guilherme, Fullkrug

Predicted outcome: West Ham 0 - 2 Crystal Palace (Mateta 2)

Was doing so much work at home assembling furniture that I forgot about the kick off. Just checked the score at half time when I finally remembered. Looked at it and do you know what? I couldn't give a fucking toss. Off for an afternoon nap now. Don't wake me up if anything happens.

Kilman, Prowse, Wilson
It's like playing with 8 players. And we can't even afford to play Paqueta tbh, everyone of them slows us down immensely

As for Palace, Glasner doesn’t even have ti get out of 2nd gear, they don't even need to try and it's on a player for them in a supposed London Derby. 💩

all they've had to do is win corners (they had 8)  and sooner or later they are guaranteed

The board has a choice if we lose again today:
1. Sack Potter
2. Be relegated

No more dithering, make your choice Sullivan. There is still enough time to turn this season around and save our skins with another manager. Keep potter and we're fucked. 2 home wins in 2025 is relegation, especially when its nearly fucking October.

And Wilson should have shot first time when he had his chance. If you’re a centre-forward and you’re not prepared to pull the trigger first time when the ball is inside the area and there’s no defender in front of you, then, seriously, get off the pitch.

This team is slow, of really limited talent, scared and massively lacking in confidence.

The only chance they have of getting 40 points (ish) is to sack Potter tonight. If he’s here for another month, it’s all over for us in the Premier League.

Aside from the tactics it’s like I said during the Sp**s game, there’s no heart or spirit in the side and under this dud there never will be.  Can any of you imagine Potter energising a team? No, neither can I.

Hear, hear. Breaks my heart and I don't even regret not standing by my usual seat, that's how much they have destroyed the heart and soul of this Club. If I were Sullivan and Brady now, I'd be begging for a Takeover the way it's going....

We are absolutely fucking terrible.

Shit manager.
Shit tactics.
Shit players.
No motivation.
No ideas.

We are nailed on going down if this debacle carries on any longer. Sack this clueless clown, tonight, and warn these players that their future lies in Colchester if they don’t buck their ideas up.

Kilman should never play for this club again. He is easily the worst £40m footballer there has ever been. And it’s not even close. Yet we’re lumped with him for another five seasons after this one.

Which brings me to the clueless cunts who sign the cheques…

Can’t recall so many white seats at the start of a home game
Havent missed much
Too slow, completely disjointed & Palace just passing the ball comfortably into midfield with no pressure
No positives at all
Potter all at sea without a clue
His last game surely?

Not does that gimp Potter do in Training when organising Defences and who's supposed to be doing what?? Countless goals conceded, never scored any ourselves from Corners and no matter which Keeper is in goal we still leak goals like a sieve. 💩

I can’t see how we can get anything from this game. I would get Kilman and JWP off for Igor and Magassa. It probably won’t make much difference. If we lose this Potter has to walk.
