If Potter doesn’t quit and accepts a pay out I’d actually rate him as a more disgusting human being than Sullivan

multi millionaire without even a basic knowledge of the job he pretends he’s an expert in, an absolute fraud
Leonardo Di Caprio could make a sequel to catch me if you can based on this cunts life

I can’t see how he can keep his job based on his results and performances. He’s had his chance now.

Don’t bother going to debrief the team. Slide off out the back door and try not to come back again. I’ve given this bloke more than enough rope but not more. Starting JWP did it for me.

Needs to be gone by 5pm.

There's no good reason for him to be here longer than that.

Sullivan certainly seems to prioritise Premier League experience over anything else when choosing a manager, which makes it a rather shallow pool if you're only willing to hire those who are out of work. Bilic is the only one he brought in who hadn't managed in the PL before, but obviously he'd played here. Sullivan would probably rather get someone who'd just finished rock bottom of the Premier League than try someone new to the country (like he did with Uncle Avram).

In fairness to Slaven, he got West Brom promoted out of the Championship as runners-up, then got sacked in the Prem (which is pretty common for managers coming up as they roll the dice to stay in the division).

Watford are a basket case and he had them 4 points of the playoff but was removed after a "bad" run (only lost twice but too manyt draws in the proceeding 10 games). with 11 games to go as they punted for the Wilder bounce to get them into the playoffs...it didn't.  Wilder lost 5 of the next 11 and they finished lower than Bilic had them.

Outside of that did a year in China and a year at one of the Saudi league's dimmer lights, and initially a short stint at a Saudi club before the money arrived.

If anything he has suffered for taking jobs that don't have outstanding liklihood of success...but he was good at West Brom, more than competent at Watford.
This is a very good summing up of Bilic's career. He's had a pretty decent record but made some awful career decisions, which makes it difficult to consider him as a good choice for any top flight club.

I'd definitely take him over some of the dreary cunts that get offered up on here as viable alternatives though. Still think at this stage we should be looking for the next Glasner or Frank: someone like Marco Rose.

And why we can't ever seriously consider those types like Glasner/Frank/Rose is because of who continues to pull the levers from his Dr. Evil high chair. He tends to go for Dinosaurs or Yes men who can be easily controlled. So it instantly rules those decent one's out who are modern free thinking Managers. And in which case that leads us back to Bilic as just about the only one Dr. Evil will consider that aint any of those. Sullivan fucks it up every single time but we are where we are and Potters currently dangling from the Mittel slide eyesore waiting for Bilic to stamp on his hand. 🛝
100%. Even if this were summer and there were several great young managers considering a move, our shortlist would STILL be Nuno, Bilic, GON and similar names for those reasons. He wants someone who will be glad of the job and won't kick up a fuss publicly while he does what he pleases in terms of choosing what players to buy and plays fantasy manger/owner/DOF

Bilic the man great. Understands the club, would create a togetherness etc.  Bilic the manager ? Nah not that great, thats done and there is little to suggest he could handle the situation. He cares and I would not enjoy seeing him suffer again.  But a typical, cynical move by Sullivan to appease fans, get Bilic then to shield him and ultimately sack him again.  Ive not seen any managerial candidate that excites and thats understandable because we recruit from out of work managers who have Prem experience.

The bar being so low, its now looking like to me that Gary O’Neill is the best of a very bad bunch.  He struggled at the start of last season after keeping Wolves up with no resources but ironically got sacked after getting a couple of wins.  Again he has never had any real budget. His Bournemouth and Wolves teams did play a decent brand of football. He kept Bournemouth up as caretaker manager and started the next season really well but was replaced by Iraola who allegedly was targeted already and nothing to do with GON’s performance.

Thrre isnt data to say GON is awful but he has not had that many games as a Prrm manager yet.  Imo he would do better than Potter and Bilic although again not much of a commendation.

I don't view Watford as a proper football club for a manger to manage.

But what's the context there?

Did West Brom improve dramatically after he left?

They were shit and simply not PL.level like a lot of promoted teams.

Allardyce took over, did no better in the next 13 games, and they were the only team he was relegated with.

Of those on offer (Nuno, O'Wall, Bilic) I'd personally go for Bilic. Not saying he's a next level manager, but for me he is the closest to what I think of as the "West Ham Way".

Plays direct attacking football that leverages a creative front line, has the principle of the team attacking and defending collectively, is intelligent, gets the Club and the fans, and whilst that last season at the Boleyn with Payet was fantastic, doesn't have so e legendary record he can come back and ruin. Plus he brought us Payet, Lanzini and Arnautovic....three of the most 'West Ham' players in recent times.

We have a better all around blend of attackers now with Bowen, Paqueta, Fernandes, Summerville and Guilherme.  Plus let's not forget he threw Oxford in against Arsenal
...so has no fear of playing a youth player he thinks is ready for it.

Nuno as we all know has higher stock, but for us is a lurch back to Moyes all, and wouldn't get through 18 months without the fans getting the hump. O'Neill is impossible to judge, but for me comes across weak, whiny and lacking Charisma.

Bilic has stature, is imposing, is well liked by his players, and knows what the club is about. He'd free up our attacking players to be attacking players, and whilst not likely to bring the 'glory days' back, for me would be an appropriate next step for the Club....especially if we keep the current recruitment team in the building.

I also think he'd be a good guy to have in the building during a backdrop of protest, as I suspect he'd have the team in tune with the fans, and be able to push past the noise of the anti-board sentiment.

Just my thoughts, but right now with what's on offer, I'm Bilic in (and screw the Forest and Wolves sloppy seconds).

Yeah I think best we can hope with Nuno is that he gets the team firing a little and gets us to a safe position before it goes tits up and we are searching for a new manager again.

I feel whoever we hire next is yet another short term fix. We aren't attracting the manager we want or indeed a decent one in the position we're in. Saying that I don't know what upwardly mobile or top manager would want to associate or work with with our owners.

Not sure about either of these two. Although I like Bilic personally he seems to have done just about fuck all since he left us. As for Nuno, if he couldn’t get on with the bubble who was spending bundles at Forest then he’s got no chance of working with our porn baron and his brass.
