and then sit on the sidelines furiously wanking

Re: Potter Out
Of the potential replacements for Potter being mentioned (assuming Potter goes), I'd prefer Bilic. He gave us our best season in recent times, and in his second season had probably the hardest job of any WH manager, having to deal with a new and unpopular home ground, everything unfamiliar for both fans and players. And at least we may see a better style of football. I'm not saying he'd be great. Just the best of the options we seem to have.

Re: Potter Out
I spoke about his record since he left in depth recently. 3 pension too ups in Saudi and China for purely monetary reasons like they all do, got WBA promoted to the Prem as Runner-up and a stint doing alright at Watford where they had 3 managers in 1 season but was the best of the lot. His 2nd season in the Shitholes first he got us midtable in 11th. Not bad considering he had to deal with Payet acting the twat and a gaff with exposed scaffolding everywhere. He also left us in the League Cup Quarters against Arsenal after beating Spurs at Wembley Away.
I'm not pretending he's a great choice or a superb manager but I am trying to be pragmatic and a realist about our current demise where we are proper fucked right now.
He also knows his way around the Shithole so won't be a new manager trying to get to grips with everything all over again, he already knows its a Shithole himself having had to work in it where it was even worse than it currently is.

Re: Potter Out
Photo doing the rounds of Nuno in Theydon Bois yesterday. Not much reason for him to be in Theydon unless he was getting a bagel or popping round Sullivan’s gaff

Are you sure? If he wasn't West Ham it would be absolute bedlam on here that he's even been mentioned. I'd rather have good looking Gary O'Wall than Bilic I reckon.Bilic wasn't shit for us. He should never have been sacked when they did the last time he managed us. And a definite upgrade on Potter. A squashed slug is a better improvement on Potter, granted but an improvement all the same. We really have little options available bar him and Nuno who might not fancy it. O'Wall is clearly just what we need right now, a Millwall loving tit with a poot track record himself at managing. If any one of those managers mentioned have the ability to inspire our players, it will be either Bilic or Nuno.
I reckon you need to have a look at his record since leaving us. It is not good. His second season with us was pretty dire too with no Payet. He definitely ain't what we need if we want to stay up.

Maybe a part of him wanting to take on the job whilst the Club is currently on it's arse thinking he could make a difference and show that someone really does care, because he loves the Club..
We're in no position to be picky either. We are bang in trouble with very limited options. But we should also remember what a shit manager Bilic was too. Great bloke, but his record is dismal.Who's realistically out there bar him or Nuno, or would you rather risk keeping Potter in charge?

But either way, I still think we end up without Nuno and with Bilic or O'Neill. They're both just more desperate, more......Sullivan.
That assessment of Nuno is a fair one, Stubbo. It could be either version that we get.
He is a better football manager than Potter, though. So I guess that’s a basic requirement ticked.
This whole period all feels “temporary” though. A shit, out of touch chairman and board making regularly poor or panicked decisions on senior personnel and refusing to invest (in personnel) their way out of it.
We’re in a football death loop at the moment.

Re: Potter Out
We're long past being in with a shout of any exciting up and coming managers and it's probably too much of a risk to get someone who wants to try to make this group of cunts play expansive football. We're in 'best available to keep us up' territory of which Nuno is streets ahead of any other name seriously mentioned. Fuck knows why he'd want to come though, will surely get better offers if he hangs around long enough. Bet he's asking for a fortune. If we are in with a shout we need to get it done tonight before someone more competent acts quicker.

You have to question whether he was really a decent manager OR whether the likes of Payet and Sakho carried that side and when they went Bilic subsequently failed
It's true. But Sakho was no superstar. Could argue he identified his most effective and talented players and platformed them to win games.
Maybe he could do the same with Bowen, Paqueta, Fernandes, Diouf and Füllkrug?

Re: Potter Out
The Board can't fuck about with this when you look at the table ans the fact when we next play itll be a week Monday after everyone else has played on the weekend, including Villas game in hand tomorrow.
Away trips to Everton in their new Stadium then Arsenal Away will not improve a thing with Potter still in charge. They have to act now or risk being in further in the shit. To keep him on would be reckless beyond belief but wouldn't put it past the clueless wankers.

Re: Potter Out
It’ll be Nuno.
I’m not a huge fan of his - think he’s OK - and he’ll have his work cut out with this group of players.
But he’s an upgrade on Potter. No question.

Re: Potter Out
McKenna is definitely not the answer at this time.
Would more than likely seal relegation starting his tenure already 3rd from bottom.
Nuno got Forest & Wolves into Europe playing effective counter attacking football. Did no worse at Spurs than anyone else did at the time including Mourinho & Conte.
Won the league & cup in Saudi.
Were Forest boring to watch? Not at all, quite the opposite.
I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Re: Potter Out
Highly unlikely they’ll go for McKenna for one simple reason: he’s under contract at Ipswich.
We only shop in the pound shop bargain bucket.

Re: Potter Out
McKenna is being floated around on a couple of the inter webs. Like the idea of him as a young promising coach but don’t think it’s the right time and the right challenge given the state we’re in.
