Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
The thing is, even if we somehow picked up a result away at Evertons new Stadium who will all be bang up for it because of the Moyes factor, there's no way we get a result away again at Arsenal at the start of this season. So points are pissing out of us at the minute the longer we prolong the agony. Proper thick management of the situation but this is what they do best..
Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
Regardless of who we get in, we have to be rid of potter before he next game. Perhaps its all academic, but putting Noble in charge, not selecting JWP and giving potts and earthy a chance is a free hit i.e. it cannot possibly get worse that keeping potter, his selections, his tactics and game losing subs. Lets not resign ourselves to losing the next two games. If we believe them lost causes with Potter just get rid now.
Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
Well it would seem that Sullivan is about to continue displaying his ineptitude by insisting on only appointing an interim manager for 6 months. In other words, trying to minimise the risk and cost of getting it wrong yet again knowing that he mow than likely to errr…. get it wrong again. Without a proper footballing strategy or long term plan. Sullivan just hopes by sheer chance he gets it right. Another unintended accident like with Moyes? Lightening striking twice hopes.
Sullivan is, as a football club owner, as incompetent and inept as it gets. But unfortunately, his little man insecurities and psychology allued to his megolamaniac personality means he thinks he is the best owner out there.
Sullivan is leading us into the abyss but instead of putting on the breaks and looking up has decided to put his foot down even harder on the accelerator.
The only bloke who would accept a 6 month real us Slaven Bilic. A great bloke but lets be honest a crap manager of football teams.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
We're 100% at this point on account of Sullivan strutting around giving everybody his Billy Big Bollocks approach, both within the club and with those he's tried to do business with elsewhere.
He's a busted flush; the whole world knows his one-dimensional game and is simply not playing along.
Never in the field of human football has such a square peg wedged itself into such a round hole.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
He can’t speak English well enough. He says so himself (in Spanish!).
That problem was bad enough under Lopetegui.
The last thing this club needs is another manager who can’t communicate what poor players are doing wrong/right, or their favourite flavour crisps.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
Obviously Potter has to go and should have long ago but have no great enthusiasm for any of the rumoured names
Another sticking plaster guess from the ranks of the unemployed by Sullivan & Brady coming up. No plan, no strategy
The Brady who seemingly appointed Potter on the basis of he being her husbands best mate
As everyone acknowledges we are in a continued doom spiral down until Sullivan goes
We are comfortably the worst team I have seen the season and at the moment you’d have to say not only relegation favourites but odds on to tail away last
Cant defend and have no threat bar Bowen who teams can double mark as they know our two ancient strikers are no threat

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
If I could choose, it would be Irala. But we won’t try because we would have to pay compensation, and Irala would probably turn us down anyway. The same could be said for Silva and Glasner. Nuno is probably the best available.

precisely why i think i wont be him.
Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
Sullivan is as usual, looking for the cheapest way out of the latest mess he created. Of course the irony is that this approach always means ot costs more longer term. Expect another disasterous appointment

In fact he was sacked around 1 week later after that article he made pointing out the Stadiums major failings and recommendations made to the Board.

I can't quite work out whether Bilic was a good coach or he just got lucky with Payet and Lanzini clicking that last Boleyn season and everything else just clicked, a bit like 85/86. That said he was on a hiding to nothing going from a tight nit Upton Park to the soulless bowl and then Payet kicking off as well along with a line of poor possibly Sullivan signings.
You've answered your own question yourself, Zico. He was dealing with a ridiculous amount of turmoil at the Club and wasn't properly supported by the Board, in fact blamed him for everything in the end like he was the problem why we couldn't really get going in the brand new shambolic mess of an unloved Stadium.
Just a quick reminder of what it used to look like compared to now, although still way off what we'd expect even now but still streets ahead of back then...
Bilic understood the importance of bringing the stands closer and even outlining the pitch to make it easier for the players to guage their surroundings better. And managers after him benefited more from his suggestions whilst he had to put up with a lot more colder distance surroundings:

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
I like Slaven but as said below it wo.uld be a huge risk getting him back and if he did I would agree he would need to update his back room staff. Love Julian to bits as a player but can you really gain respect as a coach when as a player you couldn't be arsed to train or you kicked the footballs into someone's back garden? You would certainly have to ban the players from reading his books!

A proper West Ham Manager that got us both on and off the pitch.
Snap Scorchio..Haha! I promise I hadn't seen that post before I posted mine. But yeah, snap!
His interviews were always great fun to watch and always batting for the side of the fans by tickling our bollocks as he'd mug others off, be it GSB or rivals Clubs.
It was always refreshing to hear when for years under GSB managers they'd fail time after time to understand us, instead belittling us instead about 'what was the West Ham Way??' that Allardyce and Moyes loved to do. Bilic knew and would proudly tell everyone and do it with charm too.

End clearly insight for gormless. See little point delaying the inevitable, just sack him if you’re interviewing.
They won't even manage that properly. It'll be like
Sullivan: 'So IFFFF we lose on Saturday then you're in but IFFF we win then can you just twiddle your thumbs for a week or so please until he does mess up a bit more but if not then just for a couple of months in case we might decide to make a change?
Nuno: 'Fuck off. You want me or you don't.'

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
More I think about it, because of the timing of GSB's statements of "Champions League Football, winning the Premier League etc within the first 5 years of moving", it created an environment and unrealistic expectations caused by them which many of the fanbase understandably latched on too.
It was irresponsible by them from where I was looking at the situation knowing the move was a disaster and impossible to manage in that exact situation we found ourselves in.
There was little patience for Bilic to try and manage a volatile situation and was made an unfair convenient scapegoat by the Board to hide behind for it all. Subsequently then launched out the door having just began his 3rd season whilst having to contend with everything going wrong, be it key players acting the dickhead in the dressing room, failed "Next Level" transfer targets like Carvalho/Bacca Bilic wanted, or fans fighting amongst ourselves regularly in the stands at the state of the Stadium having just been sold a pup.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
For sure Bilic was not sacked at least purely for football reasons. The deterioration of the relationship between him and the board with them buying players he didn't ask for while framing him as turning players (Renato Sanches and Grzegorz Krychowiak) down when in actuality it was much more nuanced and less straightforward situation than that to try and vilify him along with the mess THEY made over Carvalho, leading to the dildo brothers press conference. Bilic spoke his mind and I've no doubt they wanted him out from that moment, and the results were a convenient excuse- they've retained managers who have done worse.
That said, I just wouldn't take him back in 2025. I think it's too much of a risk given his career since leaving us and I don't think it'll end well. If he ends up back here it's a spectacular piece of humble pie for Sullivan as well. Having to rehire him after what happened, desperation and cheapness outweighing his pride and ego. But nothing now would surprise me, and he DOES know Bilic will jump at the opportunity. He probably sees this as some sort of opportunity for revenge. If we go down, he can just blame it all squarely on Bilic and it's an easy way of shedding any responsibility.
Found a clip of the press conference. You can tell Bilic just doesn't give a fuck about the owners messing him around and badmouthing him any more and he's revelling in the moment. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/footba ... 30511.html

I was just about to ask if we could find a temporary internal solution while the search continues, but clearly that would involve zero brown envelope action and so is probably a non-starter.

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
When I look back at the ridiculous claim Moyes "saved us from relegation" when he took over from Bilic, we were in 17th place just outside the relegation zone after 11 games. Well when you compare that record to the 1st season in the Shithole it was an almost identical start to the season in 17th place after 12 matches. We finished the season comfortably 11th in midtable and there was no reason why we couldn't have improved as the season progressed whilst also looking forward to an exciting Quarter Final against Arsenal.
When you compare the different north London games that season in the League Cup it tells you a lot about who's gutless and who's got a pair of bollocks to get a reaction from the side at Half Time..
