Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Not after 0.5 points (a full point yes
) but I did find this interesting.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg2049ezpko
I thought about posting it on the thread on WHO
"History as we were taught it is bullshit"
But I suspect the thread was more about generating antisemitism than concern over establishing facts. Not sure the originator of the thread would accept the theory that Columbus was a Spanish Jew

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Indeed probably more like Greg Rusedski! Most of the sites I checked with say he was born in Genoa, and was an Italian explorer who explored for Portugal but fair point, if you put Portugese I'll go with half a point as he isn't here anymore to ask him!

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
16 for me today, thanks Zico
I got Christopher Columbus wrong. I put Portuguese, although if I were desperate for points, I might be claiming that his nationality (is/was) far from certain. Whereas the fact that he was a representative of Portugal at the time of his travels is not in dispute. Bit like Mo Farrow being British when he won an Olympic Goid. But even if the question was intended to ask where he was born, the answer probably isn't Italy
A 20-year study of his family's DNA published last year suggests he was most likely a Spanish Jew
Well at least according to AI
