Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?

So next Saturday is the first protest with a pre-game march.

Thought a thread to organise within the context of WHO, who's going, anyone that wanted to get slurps before and after etc might be worth doing.

I'll confirm the logistics of things and post them up as well.

I'm not sure how much traction this boycott has and as Gary said it might not look that empty because everyone will move down. 

I thought that the club had a policy about people sitting in the wrong seats. One that could lead to a ban on the original seat owner, the squatter or both.

Wasn't that one of the issues Photo IDs are intended to stop?

I know nothing about that, but it clearly doesn't happen as there's regular musical chairs around us.. No photo Id either 

 

I see it all the time people going down the front to the TBL / BML at halftime or before even to stand with there mates or just jumping forward a few rows to a vacant seat.

The stewards never seem to check anyone's tickets as they enter the blocks.

Being a televised game under the lights, I'm not sure it could be that hidden even if that was the case moving to lower seats. I can see Sky Sports lapping up the images because of it being a hot topic at the Club right now widely discussed and they tend to do that pitch side reporting these days too. If there's barely any empty seats looking like normal, then they definitely won't bother.

I reckon it'll look less than half full. Possibly even closer to a third full. Whatever it turns out being the Club will still announce on the day it is yet another 62,000
sell-out..

They will probably advertise the cheap tickets in the Metro next week and continue to push the reduced hospitality packages.

As I mentioned earlier the empty seats / spaces  belonging to absent season ticket holders are likely to be filled by those higher up in the stands moving down for a better view.
That will leave empty spaces elsewhere in the ground but probably not be as visible on the telly thus nullifying the impact.
 
The ground will be two thirds full made up primarily of tourists and bored kids throwing paper aeroplanes whilst sitting in the wrong seats.

Can't imagine a game against Brentford on the telly on a Monday night being that popular with fans of other teams rocking up in their thousands instead where it won't still make a significant impact should those STs decide to stay away. Had it been a big Club in town turning up, then yeah I could see that been likely but not for this type of game. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

A sit-in would never happen in that shithole with travelling back home to contend with. Boycotting is the better way and I reckon enough doing it will make a good enough point and visual. 

Depends if other fans  buy up the cheap tickets and ruining it. I've no problem with those that have St still going as I don't know their situation so I won't judge. But others giving up their paid for tickets which has obviously got them a bit rattled and that pressure being voided by other fans  buying cheap tickets is just helping BS... Some I know have bought kids for a quid and not planning on using them.

I can’t get down on a Monday night, so again I’m there in spirit. That said, while the first one was a decent turnout, there needs to be more. 

My concern is that it’s all very nicey nicey. I think the board need to know they’re not welcome and the protest not to feel like the local book club has turned up to protest, and in fact is is West Ham telling them to fuck off.

I don't think it is they're just trying everything they can to give them bad publicity and trying to pile some pressure on.

If you're a STH and boycotting, then surely just don't sell or relist your tickets. Then there's no chance they can backfill the seats. As most seats are STH seats (are they not?) then if they boycott and haven't relisted there should be swathes of seats. More than usual for the last throes of the Potter days.

I had a phone call from the club on Monday asking if I wanted club London hospitality for £70 ?

Tickets are being sold from £15 and they will no doubt give a lot of what's remaining to local schools and other organisations.

Im torn with this and those season ticket holders who boycott have already given the club their money and sticking them on resale (although unlikely to sell) would totally defeat the object by giving the club more money 

The gaps in the stands created by  those boycotting  will more than likely be filled by opportunists moving down from the cheap seats as nobody ever checks unless there is a ln issue.

For me a sit in or other form of protest is a better way of venting our spleen and this is cutting ones nose of to spite your face.

£27 for a band two ticket for a PL fixture is also a good deal regardless of the fact that our band two would probably be a band four in any other purpose built football stadium.

I won't be attending Monday, doubt it will do much but a lot of fellow fans spare time has gone into this and they're doing it for all of us.


Not really buying the "I'm going to support the team" stance. The team know it's not them and it's like a fucking morgue over there anyway. Loads want to moan but don't want to give a game up because they like going but will keep on moaning.

They have the ability and I'm sure a fair few in the establishment would love to set another example of a caring, left-leaning state (and take a pop at the working classes).

There is an 11pm curfew to exit the London Stadium. Event organisers need special dispensation to extend the curfew for late-finishing concerts and the like.

I won't be there but a sit in after the match is a good idea for those who want to show their feelings. It doesn't effect the team for this important match but would be a real fucking nuisance to the stadium operators., who will have to pay overtime to the fucked off staff and presumably have to try and remove the fans - police? . Could turn nasty and embarrassing.

A sit in would be even more embarrassing than a boycott.  Most people can't manage to stay until the final whistle, let alone a couple of hours after.

Sit in is planned for the Newcastle game (which is early kick off).

Sit in at a night game would be hard to achieve as it's a late finish anyway and people will be wanting to get home.

So they're doing both at different games.

It would appear that thousands of West Ham fans are intent on supporting the No More BS campaign’s call for a boycott of the Brentford home game.

The statement about being an “analogue club in the digital world” needs to be repeated along with demands for BS to step awsy from day to day running of the club.  Ask them for a copy of their strategy and plans. They aint got anything. Rank Amateurs, not fit for purpose.  

Have to disagree, we are just one of many clubs in the way we are run. 
Let's look at PL, are Man It'd well run and 'digital? Chelsea? Everton? Many PL clubs are run in the sale way as us just supporters of clubs think they're the only ones.
