Why have so many posters left this site?
Anyone speak to the usual mob who used to flood this place on a daily basis?
Me personally I had a kid, went through hell and back then started up back in Estate agency, so only really now got more time to post albeit now and then, mainly because it's so quiet on here now days.

Can you get to Liverpool? If yes, I'll meet you at Elif on Bold Street and we can discuss your call out over a three course Turkish meal.

Yeah, fat fingers and autocorrect led to confusion.
Dawn’s alright, Nursey. Take from that what you will.

The layout when you post on a thread is utterly shit, Stubbo. Change it back to the old way. You cսnt.

Re: Why have so many posters left this site?
I think it just reflects what is going on with west ham and social media in general. Another site I don't post on, but have followed for years - in the brown stuff/mangler - is desperate quiet now - but still with a good bit of interest on match days. I think people are less likely to log on to forums and contribute when you have instant doom scrolling on twitter, Instagram etc - as demonstrated by someone who was on here who just posted links to twitter shit all day long. And probably drove away a few more posters.
It's a general apathy that's in society, no one reads newspapers any more etc, writes with pen and paper. I'm guessing most posting on here are over 50 and 'forums' are a bit 1990's.
But please don't go away, I'm happy to chip in towards any upkeep costs.

Less than half of that would be my educated guess.Wils setup a stats page to track these things. The numbers are legit
There's ~20+ on this small thread alone.I'm sorry but I just don't buy it. The place is moribund.
I try my best with activity by posting topics but there just isn't the traffic these days.
I think the thing is 65 posters posting 230 messages across around 20 posts does feel pretty slow. Also that monthly average factors in the match days when things are higher too.
I had a look. At since start of September 350 users have logged in to the site (so registered users, not anons). That's about the size of the community currently.
For it to feel 'busy' that likely needs to be nearer to 1000.
As for growing it...only way to do it is probably to spend money advertising on other social media platforms, as well as encouraging our existing members to spread the word.
We could also potentially 'seed' the forum daily with new topics about whatever is "new" in the West Ham and wider world to encourage greater engagement , but that might feel a bit spammy (and of course also times time and dedication amongst a very small group who all have families and day jobs to navigate).
Answers on a postcard.

It’s been dying since I started posting in 2006, or so I’m told by posters then and now. Doesn’t seem to reflect the reality that people are here and posting.
The only social media I use other than this is Quora, and I just view there.
And while we’re here, for those saying the place is dying, what’s your idea to get an upswing?

Re: Why have so many posters left this site?
I think that there are signs in general society of "Ethernet overload" and people are starting to limit all (not just WHO) on-line activity.
Couple that with many people having to work longer hours just to put food on the table and it's not hard to envisage a fall-off in traffic (interesting topics - interesting to others, that is - help).

I was addicted to this site prior to relaunch it was my go to for anything that was happening in the world at all times of the day
i tend to find it’s a bit kumb now
Now I go on if I remember to
it is something to do with layout but couldn’t put my finger on it
maybe all the ITK have left?

Nothing wrong with the layout. Putting Mary Whitehouse stubbo in charge of anything was an amusing experiment.
