Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
So next Saturday is the first protest with a pre-game march.
Thought a thread to organise within the context of WHO, who's going, anyone that wanted to get slurps before and after etc might be worth doing.
I'll confirm the logistics of things and post them up as well.

Sullivan is a pathetic cսnt.
Most fans aren't much better. The truth might be sickening, but this war is not won by nativity believing you should go to support the team.
The spine of this team had it's best spell during COVID playing alone in the toilet bowl. Give that a little think next time you enter this shit.

According to some on here my decision to go makes me a cսnt, a wanker and a scab.
My initial reaction was to post a response telling Wils if he has a picket line with a bonfire, I would willingly piss on the fire before crossing the picket. Still, having reflected, I guess at my age, with a slightly enlarged prostate, that would be less than a spectacular gesture. Instead, I will just refer him and others to the Hammers Utd Facebook, were you will find in amongst the pleas for support messages from Bubbles himself, reminding that there should be no name-calling for those not participating in last night's boycott and the event was not The Miners Strike.
I also considered coming on here and justifying my reasons for going last night, but then I thought fuck it why should I have to justify what I have done since 1956. Not that is really relevant, my reasons are both personal and complex. Suffice it to say that on balance I decided to go. I won't criticise or name call those who stayed away which left me sitting surrounded by people with less of a vested interest in the game than me and the resultant long periods of silence when the team yet again underperformed. As I said at the start this is going to be a long season in which all fans should unite
Fair play. All things aside, how full really was it? It looked like a large concentraton of people around the halfway line in the East lower, then far more sparse as you went outward from that.It was difficult to say, but I thought probably somewhere near to 45,000- 50,000. Around where I sit in the Upper West stand it was only the odd seat here and there that was unoccupied . However, a good number of regulars seemed to have sold their seats back. I believe they were available for about £16. And from my view the East stand was fuller than pictures circulating today appeared to suggest. I think they might have been taken closer to halftime.
Cheers!
Cannot get my head round people who were boycotting listing their ticket for sale.... Talk about defeating the object just to pop 20 quid or so back in your pocket. If they were available for 16 quid it means the club actually purposely took a loss on all the seats just to try and fill the ground up.

It was pointless anyone relisting their seat, they might as well have turned up anyway.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
It didn't really make much sense boycotting if those who boycott just sat indoors as though they couldn't be bothered to attend because it was a Monday night in October.
People should've boycotted but still congregated outside the stadium to make their presence known.
I would imagine Sky would've had a camera out there showing the gathering.

It's interesting that tongue-in-cheek reference to the miners strike touched a few nerves. Seems some West Ham fans are living up to the reputation that Essex man already has of being Thatcherite.
I can see many reasons why someone would have gone along last night as I said in that same post. It could have been me. So I get the point about name calling.
But just turning up because you fancied going when you know very well there is a coordinated effort among your peers to boycott the game to change things for the better is poor. I am not saying that's what you did as you never gave your reason, but for those for whom that was the reason, which I suspect there were many, all I can say is we get the club we deserve.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
Did it definitely sell out, though or did they just activate ticket exchange because it was in their interests to do so? They certainly pulled out all the other stops to try and get as many people in as possible so it wouldn't surprise me.
I got a text message from West Ham 12 days ago encouraging me to relist on Ticket Exchange early, and they were a long way from selling out at that point. I don't think I've ever had that text before.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
I fucking hate the propaganda LIES the Club peddle out by Brady/Sullivan when doctoring the true attendance figures with sold tickets. Clues in the sodding name wankers ATTENDANCE. But so symbolic of their bullshitting regime they are prepared to lie through their teeth to gaslight us and tell the world a warped untrue story instead.
That practice should not he allowed amongst many other questionable measures they've put in place like Snatch Squads and building the great wall of passion killers between the opposition fans.

Re: Hammers United Protests | Who's Going?
Looked very much like people had converged on any empty seats in the expensive section in the East stand, as of course they would do I guess. It was a lot fuller there than out toward either goal. Not sure they showed the upper tier at all, which is a shame.
A lot of people of course wouldn't even have been aware of the boycott, which is a pity. You probably only are if you're active on non club run forums or social media. They'd likely have just seen loads of cheap seats on offer for a game and decided to go.
