Even if they walked away today. After fifteen years. They would have still made a tidy sum on their “Investment.” Watch Piggies turn into Rat’s. The nano second relegation is confirmed.

Isn't his ex-wife Eve Vorley officially appointed as one of the club directors?

Maybe an accountant or financial advisor on here knows better but surely that must be some kind of a tax dodge or a way to avoid paying for an expensive divorce settlement?

What will hurt him/his ego more when we get relegated is him not being able to strut manfully around as the owner of a Premier League club.

He clearly doesn't understand anything about the footballing side, but losing the prestige of being a PL club owner, conducting his other business deals on the "impressive"  club premises and handing out palm-greasing PL freebies to "move deals along"?  He'll 100% understand the value keeping of that.

Oh, and he'll finally be forced to show his hand in his belief that the Academy is simply a production line churning out players to shift on as soon as their value matches the clubs current day-to-day cash-flow requirements.

So you're saying that Sullivan might look to sell Bowen or Paqueta in January because their value would be less if at the end of the season we are relegated.

Which makes signing Fernandes for £42M and Hermans Hermits for £20M so bloody nonsensical in the first place!

It wasn't like they performed well in a team that was unfortunate to get relegated. Both clubs stunk the place out last season - they were that far off the pace it's hard to believe it actually happened.

Last set of posts simply detailing examples of our biggest problem which is recruitment. Sullivan seems to be totally driven by short term cash flow rather than long term value.  Its costing 100s of millions. But because everythimg is leveraged / mortgaged to the hilt against future ticket and TV revenues. So much so, that if we were not to borrow money we wouldnt be able to do any transfer business or pay wages for a season or maybe more?   We have max’d out the credit cards and rely on paying them off via more borrowing and player sales ate now necessary with the TV and ticket revenue to pay off interest and wages etc just to keep remain solvent.  Sullivan and Gold put in £50 million up front and not a penny more has come in capital other than initial share purchases by Kretinsky and Tripp etc

In short, its all a kind of ponzi scheme?

And back to recruitment, lits a symptom of absolutely no strategy or long term plan. Take the manager situation. 4 in 15 months but look at it over tge Sullivan watch:
Bilic -  higher possession tactical approach
Moyes - low possession tactical approach
Pellegrini - higher possession tactical approach
Moyes II - low possession tactical approach
Lopetegui - higher possession tactical approach
Potter - higher possession tactical approach
Nuno - low possession tactical approach

All these managers wanting players that suit their tactics but also factor in the various recruitment appointments and people picking players across the 15 years of Sullivan: Tony Henry, Rob Newman, Husilos, Steidten, Macaulay and Sullivan, Salthouse, Mackay amongst others.  No joined up thinking or semblance of continuity.

Hence finally the chaotic running of a club devoid of leadership has caught up.

I’ve accepted we are down as I can see no way of getting enough points by xmas to use the Jan window to turn things around.  And remember only what a 3rd of the clubs with 4 points at this stage got out of it.

Both are on the Unique roster which is owned by Will Salthouse.

Yet we end up signing Kilman for £40M and Todibo for £35M.

You couldn't make this shit up. It's Soooooo fuckin' bad.
In fairness, we made the mistake of giving the manager at the time his number one request (Kilman) and then signing a player in Todibo that the 'numbers' allafe sense on, especially given the style we were buying into under the blinking wonder.

Todibo at the time was a very high profile, much lauded signing that we had 'done Juventus over' on.

Basically it's all the usual...buying for the manager, and not the vision of the Club.  Manager departs, half the squad are no longer serviceable.

Another thing regarding buying relegated players is they're usually a lot cheaper than normal because of their subsequent relegation. Yet we still pay through the fucking nose for them at top dollar effectively rewarding failures! (Also see Managers - Potter)

And we wonder why we aint got a pot to piss in at other times when scrounging around for loose change to fund other players we need.. 🎪

A lot of it was the Kudus money as well, a decent player (albeit with a suspect attitude) we actually had who we willfully sold off to fund them because Potter couldn't deal with him. Our recruitment policy is so back to front it's laughable. And one we sold to a London rival! 🤣

Appalling value for money... because he always leaves it to the last possible moment in the window to do something.

Get players in early around June then you don't have to be bent over and shafted for more money at the end of August.

He must foolishly believe the amount saved in wages is worthwhile yet it always gets eaten up to vastly overpay for players so late in the day. The selling club asks for more and so does the agent in wages for the player as they sense desperation so it makes very little economic sense at all

Yet it keeps happening over and over and over again. FFS!

We'd have 4 more points. If Nuno picked his best side in the last 2 games at a minimum. Only positive is the players being linked to  coming in in January will cost the poverty dwarf millions . Go cheap buy twice .

Casey also started for Swansea against City last night and their fans are waxing lyrical about him.  Rumours that Mayers has been training with the first team squad so I wonder if Casey might be in line for a recall aswell.

Kante and Landers in the dev squad also signed new long term deals this week, interesting.......sign of intent of preparing for the Championship?
Other than last night Casey hasnt really played. I think he has about 12 mins playing time.
Yes I was surprised by that. But their fans last night were absolutely raving about him. One even said it was like same as Guehi who they had on loan a few years back.

Hopefully he gets a run of games now till Jan and then we can recall him. Or the Swansea manager will know this and start playing him Feb onwards....

Either way such is the state of us can he be worst than the current two?  Even if he is at least there might be more fight and the possibility of him learning and improving. Plus at the moment he is the most likely CB to be here come next season

Casey does need a solid season or two in the championship.

Maybe that's the plan...chance would be a fine thing to actually have one of those 🙄

Going by what happened with Scarles, he'd play Herrick as a No.9, Mayers as a No. 10, Casey left wing, Kante Centre Half with Landers in goal.

Maybe he thinks Salthouse is a mate when really he just sees him as a complete mug that he can use to offload all his hard to shift shit onto while his better players go elsewhere.

Given that the club is supposed to be on preferential terms with them.

Lacroix - Palace defender
Thiaw - Newcastle defender
Koussonu - Atalanta

These players have all been linked with us at various times so what happens that results in our meddling owner signing Kilman and Todibo when there was far better out there who are more than decent for their current clubs. Who all play in European competition.

So how do we end up with such shite?

Che Adams in the January transfer window - mark my words.

Serious Defender. Been so impressed with him.
Oh look! Here's comes the BBC bigging up Malick Thiaw for being a proper beast of a defender totally suited to the Prem.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 7pw2edygpo

We could've had Lacroix and Thiaw as our central defenders as we were linked with them for months but we ended up with Kilman and Todibo.

The first two 2 cost £43 million between them.

Our 2 cost £75 million between them.

Let that sink in before you slowly pour yourselves a brandy.

Next level... genius
