Another game at the soulless bowl. All eyes will be on the team selection in the first instance, with the hope that we revert to the Everton form, and purge the experimentation of the last two games.

Nuno seems to have confirmed that for him Paqueta is a fixture in the side at 10, so suggestions he might make way look impossible. Fullkrug remains sidelined. Earthy is back in contention, and Mavro remains on the sidelines. Ezra Myers and Fin Herrinck have been called up to train with the first team.

Predicted LineUp:

Areola

Wan Bissaka
Todibo
Kilman
KWP

Potts
Fernandes

Bowen (c)
Paqueta
Summerville

Wilson

Subs:
Hermansen, Igor, Diouf, Magassa, Irving, Soucek, Marshall, Earthy, Guilherme

Predicted Result:
More of the same seems likely, with them on form and another side with a powerful aerial presence.

West Ham 1 - 3 Newcastle

Confirmed.

West Ham United: Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Kilman, Todibo, Diouf, Potts, Fernandes, Paquetá, Bowen ©, Summerville, Wilson
Subs: Hermansen (GK), Walker-Peters, Igor, Mayers, Rodríguez, Magassa, Irving, Luis Guilherme, Souček

Arguably the strongest team we could put out and it still looks weak, pretty much due to the centre backs.  God almighty recruitment has been bloody awful.

Has abandoned the inverted full backs , no striker , Irving & Soucek car crash so better
Still think they are better than us in : keeper, defence , midfield & attack , manager & time together as a squad … so limited chance today

But I’d go:

Areola
AWB, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf
Magassa, Kante/Potts
Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville
Wilson

But, Kilman (awful) and Todibo (lazy) are poor as a CB pairing.

Our squad is piss poor in too many areas. But I feel like Kante has to start getting some games/subs for us.

Fernandes has to play for me. Our only midfielder with legs who can play a bit too. He’s had a slow start but you can see he has something.

Should be a three of Fernandes, Paqueta and either Potts or Magassa.
You must have the ability to win the ball in midfield, especially with that poor CB pairing so exposed if you can’t.

So Magassa has to start. 6ft 2 and actually puts his foot in a bit. He’ll also be needed to help defend corners - because we’re shite at it and have a small team. Paqueta is best in his #10 role. Which really leaves just the one slot alongside Magassa - from Potts, Fernandes and/or Kante.

Its a tough one. Lots of square pegs in round holes in this squad.

And I’d have Todibo nowhere near the squad. You can’t have players with his couldn’t give a shit attitude in this situation. How bad can Igor be? Let’s find out, surely. It can’t get much worse? (It can!)

Last gasp for my acca too, as Manchester fucking United let me down to the tune of 40 quid yesterday.
So Man Utd lost you this week's benefit fraud?
Is that how much benefit fraud currently is?

I bow to your superior wisdom on the subject. Don't dare to ask how you acquired such knowledge though - you revealing how would be akin to, oh, at random, off the top of my head, admitting to abusing an under-aged land mine victim in Cambodia.

Won’t be at the game or protest today - work beckons.

But I hope it all goes well for those who will be there. Make your voices heard after the game.

One day this shit will end.

It's gonna be a loss anyway.
Soucek is too slow to play centre half in the Premier League. And our best u-23 centre back is on loan at Swansea.

We don’t have many options there.

Being now an exemployee of the club, I shall be watching this indoors, staying behind on the sofa for a good hour at least after the game in protest. I think we could win, like Len says, law of averages and all that innit.

I think they will expose our weak centre backs once more unfortunately.

We can probably nick a goal but they could hit four or five.

I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised but my head tells me another defeat

Law of averages are being tested by our weak, inadequate squad. 9 months since a home win and only 2 this calendar year. That is simply a club in freefall.

The younger players being picked is our last hope as we will be so far cut adrift by xmas that a transfer window will be irrelevant.  Nuno can then start preparations for a future in the championship by bringing thru the core of the U21 team.

Btw, I doff my cap to the blind faith of 7 posters who think we will win today.

I know this seems unlikely but we can't always lose, to everyone,  all the time.

The law of averages says we have to win a game of football sooner or later.

That's SCIENCE, innit.

SCIENCE is on our side.

Nuno and Potter both say hi! 👋  👋

Any good tips on parking around the bowl?

Not sure how I missed this thread. Our CBs sound do better if Nuno doesn’t invert the full backs.

Agree about Kilman and Todibo, they’re not going to have grown any bollocks in a week and to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is fucking ridiculous, the youngsters against Swindon showed more fight and togetherness than our current spine of the team, it’s not going to get better overnight but who knows? Sticking with the same old just gets us the same old. Time for Nuno to be brave.

Same. We've got to get the hell away from playing right footed Right Backs away from the Left and vice versa. Sick of seeing the likes of Wan-Bissaka, Walker-Peters masquerading as Left Backs. And fortunately (unfortunately for Scarles personally) due to injury that shit tactic has been ripped out of Nunothings hands from meddling further with on the opposite flank. Or maybe we'll now see Diouf playing there instead...🤦‍♂️
