Arguably the strongest team we could put out and it still looks weak, pretty much due to the centre backs.  God almighty recruitment has been bloody awful.

We’re quite hopeless, so this is like trying to rearrange deckchairs on the Titanic.

But I’d go:

Areola
AWB, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf
Magassa, Kante/Potts
Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville
Wilson

But, Kilman (awful) and Todibo (lazy) are poor as a CB pairing.

Our squad is piss poor in too many areas. But I feel like Kante has to start getting some games/subs for us.

 

Fernandes has to play for me. Our only midfielder with legs who can play a bit too. He’s had a slow start but you can see he has something. 

Should be a three of Fernandes, Paqueta and either Potts or Magassa. 

You must have the ability to win the ball in midfield, especially with that poor CB pairing so exposed if you can’t.

So Magassa has to start. 6ft 2 and actually puts his foot in a bit. He’ll also be needed to help defend corners - because we’re shite at it and have a small team. Paqueta is best in his #10 role. Which really leaves just the one slot alongside Magassa - from Potts, Fernandes and/or Kante.

Its a tough one. Lots of square pegs in round holes in this squad.

We can't keep playing Kilman and Todibo. I would go so far to say that playing a U21 CB or Soucek instead of Kilman would be a better option.

It's gonna be a loss anyway. 

Soucek is too slow to play centre half in the Premier League. And our best u-23 centre back is on loan at Swansea.

Law of averages are being tested by our weak, inadequate squad. 9 months since a home win and only 2 this calendar year. That is simply a club in freefall.  

The younger players being picked is our last hope as we will be so far cut adrift by xmas that a transfer window will be irrelevant.  Nuno can then start preparations for a future in the championship by bringing thru the core of the U21 team.

Agree about Kilman and Todibo, they’re not going to have grown any bollocks in a week and to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is fucking ridiculous, the youngsters against Swindon showed more fight and togetherness than our current spine of the team, it’s not going to get better overnight but who knows? Sticking with the same old just gets us the same old. Time for Nuno to be brave.

I,d go for Stubbo’s line up except instead of KWP playing and sub I’d have Diouf starting.

Same. We've got to get the hell away from playing right footed Right Backs away from the Left and vice versa. Sick of seeing the likes of Wan-Bissaka, Walker-Peters masquerading as Left Backs. And fortunately (unfortunately for Scarles personally) due to injury that shit tactic has been ripped out of Nunothings hands from meddling further with on the opposite flank. Or maybe we'll now see Diouf playing there instead...
