Another game at the soulless bowl. All eyes will be on the team selection in the first instance, with the hope that we revert to the Everton form, and purge the experimentation of the last two games.

Nuno seems to have confirmed that for him Paqueta is a fixture in the side at 10, so suggestions he might make way look impossible. Fullkrug remains sidelined. Earthy is back in contention, and Mavro remains on the sidelines. Ezra Myers and Fin Herrinck have been called up to train with the first team.

Predicted LineUp:

Areola

Wan Bissaka
Todibo
Kilman
KWP

Potts
Fernandes

Bowen (c)
Paqueta
Summerville

Wilson

Subs:
Hermansen, Igor, Diouf, Magassa, Irving, Soucek, Marshall, Earthy, Guilherme

Predicted Result:
More of the same seems likely, with them on form and another side with a powerful aerial presence.

West Ham 1 - 3 Newcastle

Newcastle not much better this half but we're just sitting back a little. Soucek coming for Wilson so we're going to try and defend this?

Crucial we can keep it up first 10 mins
If that was Moyes, he'd wait until the 89th minute to make his 1st. He clearly aint happy with what he's seen making 3 early half time Subs like that.

Agree that half was a bolt out of the blue I never saw coming, full of industry and dynamism. Newcastle may not be having a great season, but their defence is stout. We were pulling them apart in multiple waves. I hesitate to say it but our defending crosses and corners has been much better as well.

Diouf is a head-scratcher. Almost like a quicker version of Cresswell but somehow worse than his defending last year.

Newcastle are here for the taking. Look very nervy, and it’s us who seem to be playing with confidence. So important that second goal, perfect timing.

As good as we were Toon were pretty passive. I expect them to step on it after a HT rocket so we'll have to make sure we see it through they for 15 or so mins and not concede an early goal.

Strong response to going 1-0 down.

Potts playing really well, and dictating the tempo, in midfield. Wilson playing like a real #9 even with limited movement - and players wanting to shoot when they can (take note, Potter, you dull prick).

Left back at left back. Right back at right back.

Better all round. Still got to learn to tackle, but much better half. Let’s have more of it.

If Potts can impose him self a bit more on the ball and carry it a little bit more then this could be the  Declan Rice breakthrough we are all waiting for.

Decent 1st half that, very pleased with the attitude of the players today especially for not allowing their heads to drop.

Dioufs defending continues to be shocking. Real clever to bomb Emerson out the Club needlessly at great expense.

Potts overall I thought has made a positive impact in helping us to win back the ball and help get us going. For someone so raw he's doing well.

Bowen is same old Bowen trying his hardest to drag us out the mess and so heartening to see.

We have a good well deserved foothold in the game to win it now. Keep it up, West Ham!

And who knew playing your best players in their best positions would get us going....
*Looks directly in Nuno's direction with the Eastenders doosh doosh*

Could that bit of luck turn our season? Round pegs in round holes, who would have thought it. Good half but please do not sit back. Love to know Nunos thoughts on swapping over Kilman and Todibo, they usually play on the other side don't they?

Who’d have thought playing your best players would bring an uptick in performance?

Potts has been superb. Recycling every time and doing all the unpretty stuff. How has he only just started? You’d have thought he would be perfect for Potter’s style. Bizarre he picked a player that can’t pass a football in his pass to death system.

Really good half.
