Re: SIR David Beckham
He's from Chingford, so any talk of him being 'East End' is a load of rubbish.

Re: SIR David Beckham
Was he knighted for his services to infidelity or for losing the World Cup with a petulant kick out? Or indeed, as posted below, for being the 5th best player in a very good Man United team?
Re: SIR David Beckham
They'll give these knighthoods to anyone.
Its all Beckham has been after, I'm sure there are other people out there more worthy.
Beckham is now an ambassador for The Kings Foundation. As part of the role, he and Alan Titchmarsh are encouraging youngsters to take up work in horticulture.
David Beckham encouraging young people to take up gardening? WTF!

Re: SIR David Beckham
The east end boy done good and proud patriot seems to be the narrative he is spinning at the moment.
He talked with great fondness previously about his days glass collecting at Walthamstow dogs as a young man and his sadness at its closure, yet when an opportunity arose to put his money where his mouth was in an attempt to save it he declined.
He still loves a bit of pie and mash apparently and is often snapped in traditional east end geezer flat cap tucking in to this food of the gods.
A vocal remainer previously whose face adorned the front page of the Standard the night before the referendum as he advised us to face the challenges of the world together as one and to think of our children's futures and also spoke fondly of how his european teammates and friends had broadened his horizons.
A man United fan of course despite his proud east end upbringing and fondness for all things mockney.
He has done a great deal for charity of course but doesn't like to talk about it (much,) but then so have plenty of others.
I've no real problem with any of the above and he's clearly been very well managed.
However as he is not West ham I think his is a cսnt.

Or he earned a knighthood for services to Football (and helping us win the Olympic bid) leading our Country as well as setting up Academies that helped produce the likes of Harry Kane and Charity work his whole life since the age of 14. The money he made as well as all that is irrelevant.

Re: SIR David Beckham
Sooner see the likes of him rather than either Starmer or Khan knighted for genuine services and love of this Country as opposed to trying to destroy it. Local proud Englishman done good.
