Kidney Stones

Post Noah »

I started suffering pains in my side, ribs and groin a couple of weeks ago and been doubled up since end of last week with a 4mm stone on its way down to my bladder. Seems to be taking forever and the pain's just getting worse. Went to hospital and they prescribed some diclofenac suppositories but I'm fed up of violating myself. Popping paracetamol, codeine and ibuprofen instead but not really touching it.

Not expecting any sympathy from you cunts but any advice / experiences that might help?

Had loads of episodes with kidney stones, couple of operations to blast them. This all after I gave up beer

They reckon the pain experienced with a kidney stone is equivalent to giving birth
  • On a standard 0–10 pain scale:
    • Kidney stone colic: typically 9–10
    • Unmedicated childbirth contractions: 8–10

Had one in my early 30s and wouldn’t wish it upon anyone except Sully and Brady, was like having a bollocks squeezed. If you don’t take the painkillers you’re either not hurting enough or I’m a fucking girl.

Can remember when I asked them if I had to have an operation to get rid of it they said no you’re going to have to pass it, I said I’m not fucking built for that, felt like a jagged tennis ball on the way down but can’t remember pissing it out. As others have said plenty of fluids helps to move it, but each time you go for a piss it’s like russian roulette.
Good luck

You should have asked for a prescription for the beer.

I daren't even start to think about what an NHS approved beer would be like...🤣🤣🤣

Drink lots of water.

I had one 30 years ago and went straight to hospital where they gave me morpheme or something similar. I was hooked. The pain disappeared. Luckily I passed the stone the next day.

the doctor recommended I had a couple of pints of beer a day so have followed his advice since and never had another.

all the best.

I'm sorry fella, can't suggest much to help but that did make me laugh. 😂 Best of luck with it though.

Only thing I can suggest is to make your kidneys work overtime to help flush it out of your system.

Drink probably at least a litre per hour all the time you're awake.

Won't help dull the pain (unless it's neat single malt you drink) but it should lessen the time you have to suffer.

Good luck, either way.
