"We should be comfortably in 5th or 6th with the fixtures we have had recently but the squad depth is painful and to top it all the only business we did in January when it was clear to everyone we needed a striker and some cover for Paqueta and Kudus while he was away was a player who hasnt played for 2 seasons and who was never going to hit the ground running. "Cheers Mex Its fine margins and no intent but refs dont seem to consider that nowadays or the context. Think the ref had doubts too and hence didnt give a pen for the Cornet clip ( again unintentional and made a meal our of) but we’ve iften seen those given. He left VAR to deal with it. Ref looked swayed by vociferous home crowd. If Phillips had stayed on we didnt look like scoring anyway. Imo midfield looked better today with Phillips and Alvarez ( one if our better players ) but now its JWP who’s looking a weakness. Doesnt do enough in possession and not strong or quick enough. Phillips imo still needs to improve a fair amount more but is getting better the more he plays. Unfortunatrly a match ban wont help with that. Also today, Antonio just a bit too old, slow and falls over too easy although not sure refs give him much. Just back from a long lay off though so never gonna be sharp and especislly at 34 years old !! But he’s not a forward. Never looks like one as evidenced when he got thru and looked so uncomfortable having to shoot or cut in from the left. Hes all right foot or it looked tyat way. Aguerd / Zouma are a problem now as is Coufal. Like the team as a whole we are vulnerable to pace and Aguerd is simply not possessing tge physicaility or aerial ability needed in the Premiership. Got rag dolled several times and for the goal. Mavropanos getting droppedbecause he was a Steidten choice after just beginning to settle a bit i thought. Aguerd should be an attacking left back. Coufal needs replacing. He now looks like the 5 million player he is. Squad cover only for me. Bowen and Kudus now getting special attention so tactics need to change. But as mentioned it also needs some 3,or so different players for an injection of pace and movement along with a manager that sets his team up to play thru the opposition. While its going to be a very painful next 3 months, for the long term good we dont really want any revival as such because it will mean delaying the inevitable end of a manager who did a good job but was past his sell by date last season. Moyes resorting to obvious deflection and minimisation techniques now in every pist match interview. Doesnt matter what you did unfortunately its today and tomorrow tgat matters in football and we need to try something different"

He is a poor Referee that looks out of his depth, that said Phillips was stupid with the first booking, you know if you push someone it's a card.
