Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

Well seems like with all these international breaks, and us languishing, the rumours of ins and outs are rife.

Chuck anything 'worthy' of discussion on this thread...

He must be pony.   Lets face it we only think he has the potential to do anything cos he is Brazilian and cost £20m.  If he was from Canning Town and in the Academy no one would be calling him to play.

He is more Mipo Odubeko so far than Estavo thats for sure

I'm very surprised Nuno hasn't tried this yet. I'd have thought he'd be a great asset for the last 15 mins. I guess he's been super cautious so far and used KWP instead but Guilherme could do some damage when games get stretched.

Speedy yes, but pointless if 9 out of 10 crosses go out for a goal kick or throw in
And if there's no-one in the box capable of getting on the end of the cross either

I said that myself a couple of years back, slightly tongue in cheek, although it did make sense to replace Antonio with someone who half resembled Antonio rather than a static beanpole who doesn't move a lot.  I think the ship maybe has sailed as the bloke is 29, but it's can't be a coincidence that we have had most success up top recently with the likes of Antonio and Arnautovic types of player.

Which Traore? The speedy winger or someone else because if it's the winger then he would have to compete with Jarrod Bowen for a place in the side.

The fact that Bowen is rarely injured and nearly always plays the full 90 means that Guilherme doesn't get many opportunities to break through. He'd be better off out on loan, but what if Bowen does get a long term injury? Our only other options are playing Fernandes or Paqueta out of position, and they also have to act as backup to Summerville, our only LW. It's such an unbalanced squad.
Bowen gets injured then Adama Traore will be on!  JWP will be retained to lube up his arms beforehand

And having failed by trying to be a bit too clever saving some money on a potential young Striker, would also be the same Chairman signing off on dropping £27M big ones and a 4 year contract on a raspberry old biddie out of sheer desperation late on in the previous Summer transfer window. Or indeed end up with yet another raspberry old biddie Striker on our books for fuck all back in August.

You've got to fucking laugh. How many times do we hear this story about us not moving for a player and then a fee going seriously skyward, or them going somewhere else instead and ripping it up. Classic Sullivan, meantime we sign absolute shit.
I didn't post up the most painful one. Supposedly Dju was promised to Potter, along with Cresswell going into the last week of the window.

We offered 15m, both clubs held out for 17m, Sullivan walked away.

Talk of Dju, who has been on fire, going for nearer 30m now.

No idea if true...but it certainly feels believable.
It's entirely believable. The short sighted penny pinching braindead cսnt strikes again. Quibbles over what's essentially pocket change these days for two promising young players who aren't going to depreciate in value while thinking nothing of dropping 35 million quid on past it players on the downslope with zero resale value.

Traore scored 14 times in 201 games for Wolves. That is cart-horse behaviour for a forward, right up our street.

Head down merchant who'd be better suited to doing Decathlons. Don't want the donkey.

Giminez however?? Too fucking right I'd have him here over the carthorse. Can't see that happening at all.

Lot of talk about Traore, not everyone’s cup of tea but I love the way he plays.

Talk today of a swap involving Fullkrug & Giminez with Milan.

Centre back is priority after a CF.

Got to be a youngish, physical centre forward who isn't perma-crocked near the top of the ins.

Wonder if they'll ship Guilherme - been here 18 months come January, not showing much sign of breaking through.

Suspect  someone will come in for Paqueta now the betting stuff is done. Ruben Neves is one of the more obvious 2+2 bets to turn up.

Fuck getting the 'right' money now, Paqueta is the key to us staying up, which is the money we should be concentrating on rather than a poxy transfer fee.

It's more about getting good money in for him if we can. I wouldn't be against him remaining till the summer then sell him. With rumours often circulating around him looking to leave, that's also part of the equation for me. If he really wants out then more than happy to allow it for the right price. I just want to avoid a repeat of being able to sell him for good money only for it to fall through and left to pick up the pieces again.

IMO selling Paqueta would be mental. He's been intrinsic to all three of our wins this year.

The others....totally on board with that.
