The argument was that every man and his dog would want a TV set for the new service, so this was a great way of putting names to addresses. I have no idea what Trump or anyone else got up to when in Esteins company but I honestly believe that if there was any SOLID proof condemning him, the Dem media would have exposed it long before now.

If the BBC truely believes they offer an outstanding service they should back that up by opening it up to subscription. If its that good,people will gobble it up. Comes to just shy of £15 per month, many people are paying almost a score for netflix so there's the encouragement for them. In hindsight I’d actually prefer to see a more restricted bbc on a subscription model
A worldwide subscription service for the full offering. Think that would be popular across Europe, America, Australia & Asia
Not sure how you restrict access to radio output but I leave that to the technical nerds
Hopefully given they would be released from the charter which requires them to cater to all audiences they can take it up market & ditch catering to morons with Eastenders
Still room for things like Traitors & obviously they have all their back catalogue of classic shows which I presume are often licenced out to UK Gold etc
Of course I would tighten up the laws of people accessing content illegally once it’s a paid service

I can't get my head around why this is so difficult.

We're constantly told how AMAZING it is that the world has changed so dramatically, and that the old GAMMONS just need to shut up pining for the good old days and get with the times.

These same people (people like Sven) are telling us that the BBC shouldn't get with the times, and has to remain a PUBLIC service rather than a SUBSCRIPTION service like every other fucking service that exists across the world. I think that's the gist of it.

It's very simple, the BBC should stand on it's own feet, and let everyone decide if they choose to watch it or not. And all the people who love it so much, can continue to pay for it.

I don’t believe the edit changed the nature and tone of Trumps speech but the bbc should have made it clear they had bolted two parts of it together without making it clear 
That was a mistake 
And if they had done the same to anyone that would still have been a mistake … Trump , Starmer, whoever
The bbc as I have said many times need a shake up particularly in their news coverage which I believe is inferior to Channel 4 despite having much more resources
Their general behaviour is error prone & way below the standards they should reach

In regards to Trumps speech I believe he WAS inciting violence 
Understand 220 people were charged in relation to the riot at the Capitol and when cross examined they gave one answer as to why they did what they did

It's nothing like a mistake. It's blatant intentional manipulation of words he said almost an hour apart spliced together. And not once, but twice on different programmes which shows a similar pattern of behaviour that should send shivers down audiences spines that was even called out at the time by a guest on the segment but ignored.

If they can do this to the President of the United States of America (as well as doctor a current British MP statement during PMQs 2 days ago), then they could do it to anyone.
