Quick story re Petula Clark.  When I was in my late teens and 20's my local was a pub called the King's Head (no longer a pub sadly) that was a famous half way house historically between London and Brighton.  A few stars still stayed there when they were performing in Brighton back in the 70's & 80's.  One night Petula Clark was sitting at the bar quietly but some bright spark thought it would be funny to play "Downtown" on a loop, (wasn't me) on the Jukebox.  After about the tenth rendition the poor woman stormed off to her room! The price of fame!
