They always break their promises so if he has any sense he'd swerve our Club for his own healths sake.

If we go American, I'd rather bring back Jonny "the sweater" Spector.

I agree, trying to stay unbiased. I think he is a huge talent and would love to see him with West Ham at some point. What he has done with very spotty football training is impressive.
If we bought 2 strikers, maybe, but he is not going to be the main striker that you rely on Wilson alone to spell off.

I actually liked old Wanchope, so unpredictable at times that even he didn't know what he'd do next with the ball but every now and again he'd produce quality. One to keep an eye on though, sounds promising.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
My memories say Promise is a better finisher (except Wanchope against Canada in World Cup Qualifying) but he does have some of the same problems.
Here is the good:
The bad is that I saw him end of last season miscontrol a long ball bad enough that he booted it back past his own centre back and lead directly to an easy goal against. But some the first touch stuff has improved some this year.
He also is not a 90' striker and therefore doesn't start in a high-tempo (Red Bull-esque) Canada team.
It would be a punt, maybe a really good for the future one at the prices listed but not as the only non-Wilson striker we have. Also selfishly I would rather he stay settled and improving until the World Cup.

Couple concerns, he really has never trained to be a hold up man, so even at 24 years old, he is not great with his control or passing out of a pivot. Though some improvment there recently. He also rarely goes 90' for club or country and looks gassed beyond 45' a lot of the time.
The new Paulo Wanchope?

He's a character and a fun guy to follow, not that that should enter into it. But was instrumental in winning his club side their first Belgian title in 100 and so years. Some good video of him after that.
Just scored in the Champions League, incidently.
Edit: And subbed off (as per normal).

Earthy looks a good player.
I suspect we'll target more pace though - the obvious two and two target sounds like it's Traore at Fulham. Played for Nuno at Wolves, a sort of mash up of Antonio and Kudus and most importantly, very likely to be cheap and available.
Some rumours about some fella called Promise David too - one of those gigantic strikers that seem to do well in Belgium.

Earthy might be part of the answer if he takes a chance given to him before the window opens now he's back fit.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
We do need another winger.
I dont see the young Brazilian making it and if Summerville is out we have no one else.
Same if Bowen is to get injured.
Elliot would make a good signing as can also play centrally although not sure what is going on with him at Villa. Barely kicked a ball and being left out of squads.
CB and ST at a minimum. Preferably also a WB, Winger, and CM.
Ward Prowse, Rodriguez, Irving and Fullkrug to find new homes.

Don't think he can because of the tax problems.
Sure I read that a player needs to be away for a couple of years to skip the tax bill.
That's why Neves is possible - he's done his two years - and why Henderson went to Ajax for a while.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
I'd guess we'll offload Rodriguez and Ward-Prowse if we were to sign the German kid, but yes, we definitely need a centre forward instead of Fulkrug, and I'd say we need another quick wide player who is ready to play because Guilherme is questionable,
Some talk that Fenerbahce want to make the Alvarez signing permanent , maybe that won't happen til summer.
Reckon they will stick with the centre backs. To be fair, Todibo has been much improved in the last 2/3 games - first time he's ever really looked worth the money. Must be the new haircut.
