What albums would you estimate that you've listened to the most in your life?

Post dm »

"Obviously no one knows the answer to this for definite. But I'm sure most people would have a good idea. Obviously as we're mainly old farts on here, over 50, Obviously would be albums you got into in your teens or early 20s. Quite possibly albums you no longer listen to. Or albums that you've loved for decades and still play on a fairly frequent basis. A lot of people don't really listen to albums anymore, but I get the impression that a lot of people on WHO still do. I personally do stil tend to play albums about 80% of the time. Cone on, be honest. What would you say are your most listened to albums in your life (so far)"

"When I was doing my apprenticeship, I had a fair amount of homework and so used to put on an album to help me concentrate - generally one of about 4, over the 3 years, depending on how the day had gone: Tubular Bells, DSOTM, Yessongs - that sort of genre. Even though towards the end of my training I was buying 3-4 albums a week, those almost always got played. Later, when I was no longer an apprentice, I started to listen to more ""left field"" stuff and the four albums that stick in my mind (enough to bring back pleasant memories, at least, are Everyone is Everybody Else (Barclay James Harvest), Turn Of The Cards (Renaissance), Journey ((Arthur Brown's) Kingdom Come) and When The Eagle Flies (Traffic). If a track from any of those pops up on my Kodi, even today, I inevitably have to play the whole album. All a bit ""From a point at sea to the circles in your mind..."", which is where I heard most of the music I ended up buying."

"yngwies Cat 12:48 Tue Jan 30 I had a well developed system. I'd buy the vinyl, take it home and record it onto cassette for the endless pausing and rewinding that would then take place. Can't imagine how difficult it would have been trying to do it using the vinyl itself!?üòÅ"

"When I was a keen (and much younger) guitar player, I would buy every new Iron Maiden album on the day it was released, take it home and learn how to play every song on it. This would inevitably take many, many, many plays in the days before the internet became a major help in figuring out how to play things. I did this for their first 6 or 7 albums before becoming less obsessed!"

"Blimey tough one. I'd have to say the first 3 Rainbow Albums, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow Rising Long Live Rock and Roll. Throw in Sabbath's Heaven And Hell, Mob Rules and Dio's Hold Diver They got a lot of rotation on death deck back in the day and a stable favourite in Spotify. An honorable mention to Yngiwes 2nd slab of greatness Marching Out."
