Transfer window- are we at an unfair disadvantage due to playing tonight?

"Definitely agree a smart club would try to get their business done sooner, although a lot of stuff doesn’t get moving until the last minute for whatever reason and more often than not due to the selling club. There is no denying we have some pressing needs though and it’s a little disappointing to be rehashing two years ago and not addressing almost all of them. "If Steidten is in charge of transfers then it shouldn't effect us buying anyone. He doesn't need to be at the match and he can agree beforehand with Moyes/Sullivan who the priority targets are and what the maximum budget for each one is. Obviously causes problems with any possible outgoings. We could just not bring to the match any of those who might be going, but that puts us at a disadvantage not only for the match, but also in terms of negotiating, as we've made it clear we want to get shot of the player. That said, we should have learnt our lesson by now and made sure we do all our transfer business much earlier in the window."
