Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

Well seems like with all these international breaks, and us languishing, the rumours of ins and outs are rife.

Chuck anything 'worthy' of discussion on this thread...

As you say, given our position you would have thought these players would have been identified already and be ready to sign TOMORROW. Then again that would mean the dwarf cսnt shellingout good money and wages. We'll probably sign Antonio and Cresswell on January 27th

So despite having had months to prepare for this window, at this moment there appears to be no  one lined up who would be any kind of improvement on what we currently have.
We need a minimum of three new players who will make a difference and we need them this week. It’s no use getting them in mid to late January, we must have them now.
The trouble is I can’t see Sullivan and Espirito Santo pulling it off.

Seeing a few mutterings that Souffian El Karouani is expected to sign. Algerian left back, plays for Utrecht and out of contract in the summer.

Igor obviously couldn’t play against Brighton but needs to step up now
Sullivan will fuck up the signing of Charlie Cresswell so we at least need to bring Kaelen Casey back from Swansea
He could not be worse than Kilman

Just to say something positive. traore will at least stretch games and teams and be strong enough to not just get blocked off the ball and lose it within seconds. He will need to be accounted for by the oppositions fastest player. That alone will create a lot of space for other players to fill. And let’s face it, it’s an improvement on Summerville or playing someone else out of position there. It’s maybe not much but it’s better than what we have and if it’s cheap, well it means we can maybe bring an extra body in. Oh and it’s likely to be short term so we’re not stuck with an albatross for 4 more seasons if we do stay up.

It’s hardly like we can sign a top player in our position. Thanks Sullivan.

He's like a Daddy Long Legs spider - everyone believes the urban legend that he's poisonous but can't use his jaws when in reality he's pretty harmless in the first place!

I'm not holding my breath so I guess it means anything else would be an unexpected surprise 🙄

A truly awful footballer that wouldn't get a place in a decent Sunday League pub side.

40 fucking million????????????

Loppy needs shooting just for that alone.

Only decent thing I’ve ever seen him do in a WHU shirt was absolutely wipe out their player last night.
Been waiting to see that from one of our centre halves for a few seasons.
Didnt look a booking either, the ball was there to be won and didnt look like he used any elbows.

We need a proper center half more than we need a striker! We get goals, we get a lead and then literally chuck it in the bin.

stubbo-admin wrote: 31 Dec 2025, 08:50 Right now it looks most likely that it will be:

- Rafiu Durosinmi (signing)
- Adama Traore (signing)
- Loan of another striker (Nketiah being explored)

Durosinmi the lad who had ACL rebuild in BOTH knees....what could go wrong :)

I don't want any of these 3. If Traore and Nketiah aren't good enough for their clubs then why should they be for us? The other guy is an unknown and we need someone who can come straight into the team to go.

We need Cresswell plus A.N Other to play up front. We also need AWB & Diouf back.

This Durosinmi fella, can he play in Forrest Gump style leg irons which will be needed as soon as both his knees collapse 15 mins into his debut.

Also Traore transfer being vetoed by Sullivan I hear? Says the cost of vaseline Traore uses on his body to give the oppositin the “slip” is too much when added to Sully’s excessive use of it for extra curricular activities he participates in (allegedly with very young ladies)?

I'm choosing to hope this bloke's dodgy knees are a bit like Demba Ba's and he'll be the same quality 😁

As a trio these three add some real physical presence and pace in the forward areas which can be used from the start or from the bench.

That could make a big difference,

Lost count of how many points we have given away in the last 30 minutes of games this season because there's no real attacking options and we end up on the back foot.  They also look like reasonable insurance if we drop.

Add a hard as nails CB and who knows where we could go.

Game after game we're as good as most midtable teams for an hour, then the last half hour goes tits up.

“Someone mobile who knows where the goal is.”

Well, that’s not Eddie Nketia. His hamstrings are made of glass and take a look at his scoring record.

Next.

Hahah just checked his stats. Didn’t realise he was that bad!
How was he at Arsenal for so long? I just remember him scoring against us.

Oh well…. Next indeed!
