"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

South. If you saw how Moore performed last Friday. You understand why he's going back to school. Believe you me. The Jets dodged a bullet.!

Well, the Jets’ big draft move has sort of backfired.

Raiders will pick at #1 and get Mendoza.

Now Dante Moore has announced he’s going back to Oregon next season and will enter the 2027 draft.

We were sitting on Moore at #2. But he clearly doesn’t want to join the Jets (don’t blame him: we’re a shitshow).

So, now we need another QB option.

Choices are Ty Simpson from Alabama, or trade draft picks to take an established QB. This will increase the speculation around a big trade for Joe Burrow.

Ironically, though, the Jets now hold even more power in the draft. We’re sitting on the #2 pick. If we like the look of Ty Simpson, we could probably land him around #8 to #12 in the draft order. So there’s the possibility to trade down in return for TWO first rounders. That might give us 3 first rounders this year (we already hold #2 and #16) and again in 2027.

IF we had a decent head coach, GM and scouting network, we could actually build a very good team with that sort of draft capital. But we have Dumb and Dumber. So we will waste it. Again.

They've had just three head coaches since 1968, which is an amazing level of consistency and permanency. The Jets had seven head coaches during Mike Tomlin's reign at the Steelers!

He'd walk into another job, should he want one (probably after the 2026/27 season). But 18 seasons as a HC is a lot. He might just want to have a long period away from coaching.
The Texan defence does indeed look strong , however I do feel their quarterback does make rash decisions under pressure .

Is that true?  Why would another team have to give up draft picks if he's left?

Go on then Grumps, I'll bite on this terrible bait.

The fact that Seahawks, Rams and 49ers have to play each other twice already (and I think each team finished 1-1 for their respective series) makes this a nonsense statement, and while I can't speak for the 49ers schedule, Seattle alone played Steelers, Jags and Texans of the play off teams and beat them all, and put up big scores against the Panthers and Falcons on the road (those two places where you lost recently).

Unlike you and the bookies, I didn't think the Panthers game would be easy, let's see what happens
I didn’t think the Panthers game would be easy, they’ve been playing well and already beat the Rams once. But nice avoidance there 😂
what am I avoiding? the two games you're talking about were narrow (3pts or less) road defeats, and they've scored 34pts or more in nine of their last twelve games
It was light hearted - you answered what I said about the Rams form by saying you didn't think the Panthers game would be easy (and insinuating I did, which was odd), ignoring the bit about their prior form.  My point was you can't say a team is on form and has momentum going into the play offs when their final three games was L2 W1.  There were other teams on much better streaks.

And even though those games were 3 points or less, they were still losses.  If I used that rationale then the Seahawks are the most in form team, the 3 games they lost were all by 3 points or less and Seattle had the chance to win all of them on the final play (49ers - Darnold hit as throwing to end zone and ball knocked out of his hand, Buccaneers - ball deflected off a Buccs helmet while throwing to the end zone and caught by a defensive player, Rams - missed field goal with last kick of the game).  See what I mean?  That was all.

Seattle’s offense doesn’t scare anyone.Don’t expect CMC to hand the ball to your LBer on your 5 yard line again.

Niners win 20-17
Except we did.

Interestingly I keep seeing people say the Seattle offence doesn’t offer anything or scare anyone. That’ll be the offence that put up the biggest points difference in either conference then?

Some great games in the wildcards.

Genuinely open this year - almost any of the remaining sides could win it. Lots of injuries for some teams, though. Think the Bills are down to their 6th/7th receiver.

amazing story so far with all these injuries and all these wins.
Tremendous effort!

Hawks in Seattle next. This time we hopefully will have Pearsall to offer a deep threat to keep Seattles D honest, that won’t be able to play Nickle the whole game again. Remember they could only manage 13 points against our 3rd string LBers.
Played within ourselves and utterly dominated you anyway. That’ll do
