Well in what could be the last one of these for a while, we head to catchily names 'Tottenham Hotspur Stadium' this weekend for a clash between two sides who are, on form, pretty much the shittest in the league.

Thomas Frank, a manager that very few West Ham fans would have turned their nose up at any time post-Moyes is almost universally derided in North London, where his transformational overhaul at Spurs has seen them continue to concede just as many chances as they create (something Ange also managed), but has seen the frequency of those chances drop off a cliff.  Pretty it isn't.

Meanwhile at the toilet bowl, the saga involving Lucas Paqueta's desire to return to Brazil having been royally fucked over by English football in general, has once again reared it's ugly head...in some ways a refreshing distraction from the plight the Club is in, but in others, just another example of the disarray we find ourselves in.  It's also given the chance for the Club's most 'Senior Source' to start up with his social media 'reveals' again via the usual suspects (Whetstone/Ex/Gonzo/et al).

Take your pick what you believe, but he's either training on his own, gone on strike, nursing a back injury, or ready to stick one up the Cockerels.  Regardless it looks like he's off to Brazil in the not too distant future (frankly, who can blame him) and we'll now doubt 'soften the blow' with the exciting announcement of Adama Traore (Sullivan will need to spend the Paqueta dosh just to keep the lad in baby oil).

So back to this game. It's their dull, low block drudgery up against out dull, low block drudgery.  Maybe the new first team coach Paco Jemez can inspure Nuno to unshackle the beast, with tales of his relegation-cheating escapades at Rayo Vallecano (well, until they succombed in 2016). I doubt it though.  What is almost universally certain however, is that Spurs only fit-to-start frontman Kolo Muani will break his Spurs duck this weekend. Lump on!

Predicted line-up:

I expect Paqueta at best to be on the bench despite Nuno's protestations, meaning the decision will have to come down to whether to start both strikers, or stick one of the young CDMs in and push Fernandes higher up the pitch.  I suspect the latter.  The other decision...stick with T-Rex after a close-to-competent Cup performance, or welcome back Flapping Fonzi for some more 'punch their lights out' action.  My guess...the latter.
Areola

Wan Bissaka   Mavropanos   Todibo   Scarles

Soucek    Potts

Bowen        Fernandes     Summerville

Taty

Subs: Hermansen, KWP, Mayers, Casey, Magassa, Rodriguez, Kante, Irving & Pablo.
Predicted Score:

Well we have a bench full of negativity, a dug out lacking in adventure, and a team that barely limped past the might of QPR (in extra time no less).  They are drudgery personified.  But given our form predicting a 0:0 feels impossible.

Spurs 1 - 1 West Ham  (Kolo Muani, Soucek)

Soucek was very effective positionally and in his duels ( both aerially and on the ground ) against Spurs.

It may well be as simple as the fact that we now have 2 attackers defending from the front lessening the load on the CMs and Spurs set up first half with 3 sitting deeper and the 2 new lads pressing their 2 midfielders who were poor. Second half when Bissouma came on and they moved to advancing wing backs, almost 5 or 6 in the middle, Soucek struggled more as did the rest of the team.  Nuno tends to set up more like Moyes, more static and compact and it suits him better but he will
always struggle against teams with pace in midfield who attack or counter in number. Its the managers job to know how the opposition plays (its tactics etc) and pick the right combination of players especially in midfield. Also Nuno needs to act far quicker ( in game management ) Magassa and / or Potts need to brought on or start dependimg on the opposition.  The “horses for courses” idea. Soucek is very slow so not always the best horse for every course. Sunderland I dont know their approach tactically? Sit deep, fast countering side, low possession or higher possession, look to overload, move the ball quickly to make space in the opposition defence.

He certainly stood up on Saturday.
As he always has, can't ever accuse him of hiding, I love the bloke because he puts his head on the block for the cause every time he puts the shirt on.

The Top 5 teams by virtue of having top players from around the world in all positions and on the bench, are insulated from relegation The remainder may qualify for Europe on a good year and be relegated on a bad year.  In between these two separate groups is Tottenham, never quite becoming a top team and rarely slipping into the relegation zone.  So three out of 14 teams get the drop. They have sacked several top managers who do well elsewhere,. Their board is as deluded as their fans. Their fans are deluded as to how they compare with real top teams and are obsessed with their size.

The pretence that they don't give a fuck about West Ham is bollocks. They hate us as much as we hate them.  They beat us 2 -1 on their own ground two and a half days after we had a big European match. and the internet was full of pages with their fans singing "West Ham get battered". A song West Ham used to sing about their fans being literally battered around Europe by the likes of Lazio. , they can't even make their own songs up.

WE have a great history of turning the 4Bs over on their ground and it seems the worse the team we have the more likely we are to fuck them up.

I'm cool with that. It clearly worked, they couldn't rescind the penalty so a deal was done where the Moroccan "missed".

Not paid any attention to football outside of West Ham all season, but it was funny seeing what turmoil the Y’s are in. If only Sullivan could sell us and buy them.

Gank you wank.
So you think Summerville who couldn't hit a barn door isn't palying better now than earlier in the season.
You haven't watched much then.
It was Scarles corner that led to the goal that saved Nuno's job.
you need to watch the games and not just the highlights.

I'm shocked that BoleynGone thinks every kid is better than their competition for a first team spot, I really didn't see that coming.

Was looking at the Wilson goal with a VAR hat on
Wilson did nothing wrong
Vicario had his arm around Wilson’s neck as the ball came in : Penalty & Red card
Vicario then chased the referee shouting abuse - Red card
Romero who was marking Soucek had a fistful of Wilson’s shirt : Penalty & Red card

Tottenham down to 9 men, Vicario ban extended to 6 games
Goal allowed 2-1
Penalty 3-1
Penalty 4-1

totally agree, the subs wer appalling really,if Wilson had not been there and the game ended 1-1,we would have all been saying it was the end. We played well in the first half and the difference was that Mavro actually came out with the ball on a couple of occasions knowing he had Todibo there and not Kalimty Kilman. The more the pair get that confidence the better. I'm still not convinced in this Pablo senhor, runs around a lot and can't shoot. He's been given a hell of lot of chance than Marshall, who was always up against it with us being 3 goals down. Marshall could run around all day provide the same. Taty has done well but in 4 games time will he be still doing the same. This is why we need Wilson to stay,we can't rely on both of these new strikers to do to much. For me Wilson has to start especially next week, away from home he can be that sub. Bringing on Wilson was a far to late move by Nuno and Rodrigues a totally negative sub, playing for the point.
Scarles will only get better and when he is allowed to move up the wing in combination with Summerville,he'll get an assist or goal pretty soon. Summerville and Scarles are forming a good understanding, better than Diuof. Summerville's performance of late are down to that.
Let's hope for FFS Nuno selects the best team. not his favourites.

Opinions but I tend to agree with Helmut ( being a Helmet meself of course ) that Pablo though a bit one paced did give a massive contribution to the team and was often seen deep in our own galf helping out in midfield. I watched the game on a replay channel this morning. He needs to strengthen but was giving the Spuds CBs, midfielders etc plenty to think about. He lacks a bit of quality with his passing but at 21 he may be able to improve.  Not worth the fee quoted right now but some potential. Like his attitude thats for sure
