And to be fair, he did diagnose the problem well. Our expectations have changed. Not just at West Ham but everywhere. I noticed at Anfield they were piping crowd noise through the PA. I could hear the stand to our right singing and when I scanned the seats everyone was silently watching game. I get a bit irritated by the forced atmosphere at LS (and they were already doing it at Upton Park) with the bubble machine and playing bubbles as the teams come out. I don't have any fix for it though. It's also partly to do with the age profile of a premier league crowd and also that the West Ham demographic is now a diaspora rather than a local community. We have fossilised and we all know what damage fossils do to an atmosphere."
