Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Well seems like with all these international breaks, and us languishing, the rumours of ins and outs are rife.
Chuck anything 'worthy' of discussion on this thread...
--------------
Incomings:
Pablo Felipe - €21m + €3m (Gil Vicente) | Forward
Valentin 'Taty' Castellanos - €26m + €4m (Lazio) | Forward
Adama Traore - £2m + £1m if stay up (Fulham) | Forward
Axel Disasi - Loan (Chelsea) | Centre Back
Keiber Lamadrid - £150k + £1m option | Attacking Mid
Outgoings:
Nicolas Füllkrug - 6 months loan (AC Milan)
Luis Guilherme - £17m + Sell On % (Sporting Lisbon)
George Earthy - 6 months loan (Bristol City)
Callum Marshall - 6 months loan (Bochum)
Andy Irving - 1.5m (Sparta Prague)
Guido Rodriguez - Undisclosed (Valencia)
Igor Julio - Loan Cancelled (Brighton)
James Ward Prowse - 6 months loan (Burnley)
Lucas Paqueta - £36.5m + Buy Back Clause (Flamengo)
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Paqueta off, oh well thats the books balanced for Sullivan. Taty and Pablo fees totalled about £45 million. Guilherme and Paqueta fees total £57 million. Happy days for Sully as it means we have an extra 9 - 10 million to cover Traore and with the way he haggles on installments ( incoming its within 18mths and outlays over 3-5 years) the cash flow keeping the club afloat gets a nice boost.
Dont be surprised if we get no CB or other midfielders in. Yet another window where outgoing players far outbumber incoming players

Virtually all transfers are paid on the drip these days, especially larger fees. Three payments, 50% up front, then the balance in equal installments being the most common.
One of the very few things our owners are half decent at, is negotiating good payment schedules, on player purchases.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
I suppose from their point of view, they wanted to make a statement signing, and you'd imagine very few regulars in the national team would go and play in that league whilst still at a decent age. We all know why he was so desperate to go back, so it went in our favour for once.
Problem is finding quality players ready to join us in our current predicament with the dough. I'd be in favour of signing a tried and tested PL performer like Pinnock, who would suit us in the dogfight, and who would be handy next season regardless of what league we're in.
It's a mess, it's shit, but it's where we are, and we still have to box sensibly.

The Brazilian clubs are basket cases - Flamengo have made this one of their biggest signings in many years. Brazilian owners are nutters and they do alot of building reputations on kudus and claims and bravado. Brazilian clubs fans are very big on using signings as status symbols. I would wager the Flamengo owners have promised Paqueta is on his way. They probably went balls in and have left themselves over a barrel to a point. They can't back out otherwise there will be riots.

Yea thought similar, apart from the fact that it's huge dough for a Brazilian club you would expect them to throw the towel in if not getting their own way, but they seemed determined to get him and maybe for the reasons you have outlined.
Can't say I've eve taken to the bloke, he's all hot air, but if he's got his dream move back home to his boyhood club then fair play to him and wouldn't begrudge him that. Who said romance is dead in football

They're minted. Just come off the back of winning the double in the Copa Libatadores and the League as well. To bring their boy back home they've got the money for it.

As he only wanted one club I thought we would have a Payet/Marseille situation where we get shafted.
It is a good amount and cant wait to see the back of him.
Great player in patches but way too lazy and inconsistent. Absolute liability at times as well.
We wont miss him all.

In our position we can’t afford players who don’t want to play and have been disinterested dog shit for a long time
To shift him for 40m is a right result
Need to get deals done now
A centre half as number 1 priority of course (double bonus if that involves shifting Kilman) & another midfielder if possible

What's annoying is that's he's not shit. I don't believe he has really been bothered since he didn't get his move to Man City and the whole FA charges thing. He checked out then and has been coasting ever since.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Saw it on Sky Sports News last night.
40m at least, is the going rate for a Brazilian international still in his prime. Don't forget we paid 54m for him only 2 and half years ago.
I guess if he had been playing well consistently and it was an English club buying him, the price would be around 65 million.

Agree, it's good money for him. Looks like Sullivan dug in and got what he wanted.
I'm fairly pleased with our outgoings this month, just a shame there was no truth in Palace wanting Kilman upon Guehi leaving, no shock there!

Surely this is what we're all thinking? Hope I'm wrong, but it feels inevitable. I think we've spent the Paqueta money already. He will go right at the end of the window, to recoup much of that cash.

We do need to replace Guido but that's brought Ward Prowse back into the fold. However we still have Magassa, Potts and Soucek competing for a place. I still rate Magassa despite him having a couple of off games, he had been playing well before that, particularly at Old Trafford.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Traore is done.
Need a CB more than another midfielder, can't see us buying 2 more so would rather the CB.
Midfield is better covered even without Paqueta if JWP is now staying as part of the squad.
We have him, Magassa, Potts and Kante as cover.
The lack of leadership at the back, clean sheets and amount of goals we've conceded from set pieces and headers highlight where the priority lies.
