The nerds are of the view that we actually have a decent chance in this game, and that a low possession approach is not a bad thing...just that Hermansen is a bit of a risk given his weakness (and their predeliction) for shots from distance:

Trouble is we have looked better with 2 pressing up top and that would be sacrificed so will it mean us sinking too deep again?

Other area of concern that pops up is Amad out wide for them. I still think Diouf can be suspect to pacy wingers defensively at times and the Mancs get a lot of chances via Amad like we do with Summerville nowadays

Ex suggesting the tales of injuries are being blown out of proportion:
West Ham have a couple of injury concerns going into the match against in form Manchester United.Social media has made the situation seem much worse than it is and the starting eleven could be quite similar to the one that started against Burnley. The manager will need to decide whether to keep with Hermansen in goal following his clean sheet or recall Areola. Another dilemma is can Wilson play two games in a row in quick succession, Pablo is obvious replacement was seen limping at the end of the game and is a doubt for today’s game.Jean-Clair Todibo is suspended for the match and serves the second of his three match ban.Keiber Lamadrid and Ezra Mayers are also in the squad but one could miss out if fitness tests are passed.Other fitness tests will be conducted on a couple of other players and this could mean that the team is hard to contain early today due to this.-Ex’s early team news off Patreon

Looking forward to this. Hoping Lamadrid is being brought into.the squad on merit.

Again saw very little of the Burnley game, only had commentary so not sure how Wilson was as a starter? Im minded to think he is more effective coming on late when we're looking for a goal?

Win. But I think the added time at the end will be a hide behind the sofa job.

And then a well earned rest on saturday for bowen, summerville, mateus.

Tempting fate I know, but Fernandes has just two assists and no goals in 12 league games against the Hammers.

And he won't even be the best Fernandes on the pitch

Didn't see us against Burnley so I don't know how well Wilson played and how it worked with him and Taty,  if Pablo is out we will miss him tonight.

Agree about Man Utd, Fernandes dictates the game for them and he can pick a pass, Cunha was anonymous last time we played them but is in much better form and well capable of winning a game on his own.

The other team will need to score two or more goals against us. We just need to defend better.

Their strength is the three behind him - Cunha, Diallo and Fernandes. Behind that they looked close to average. Need to compete in midfield and keep it tight defensively down the wings. We should be able to exploit weaknesses in their defence if we approach the game with the right attitude. Go for it, I say, and take the game to them.

Good post and they needed a late goal to beat Fulham, so they certainly aren't impregnable and we shouldn't give them too much respect. What worries me is they have some individuals who can turn a game in a heartbeat, not sure that we really have that.

Yes I'd prefer us to not rest anyone but also we don't need anyone playing who's a bit leggy and not at it.

One of those games where we’re weaker in most positions, even though they’ve only started playing well recently. Love these games where we’ve got the chance to halt the MU momentum. We’ve more than rattled them a few times over the years, loved the “obscene effort “ over that Ferguson team.

In our current sorry shit state there's no point resting anyone. Chuck the kitchen sink at it and hope it works, then deal with resting some in the Cup game against Burton. Plenty of time to recover before the next League game after tonight.

Does Nuno rest a couple for more winnable games (on paper)? Who knows but taking their recent form into account,a draw would be a decent result tonight but that will still take some doing.

Yea, thinking about it I take back my take on Traore starting, I was thinking put Traore wide right and Bowen to replace Pablo more central, but it's more likely to be Magassa or Potts for Pablo and pack the midfield out. The downside to that is no pace in the middle of the park, Fernandes isn't pacey either. Another option is to keep the same side that started against Burnley assuming it is only Pablo that is injured.

Literally zero chance we are resting players while in the bottom 3 with the next league game not being for another 11 days! We need to remember that if we're to stay up we need to win a game or two of the more difficult fixtures. As Nuno has said many times it's one day at a time.

I reckon it will be Pablo who is out and Traore will come in with a bit of re-shuffling.

stubbo-admin wrote: 09 Feb 2026, 21:52 Well apparently Lamadrid in the squad for tomorrow.  Seems to imply one of Bowen, Summerville, or even both out.

Looks like Adama will get the start.  Can't think he'd throw this kid...probably Diouf up to left wing and Scarles in at full back before that happens.

Summervilles fragile hammys gone twang again?

Not realy sure if I've mentioned this but I fucking detest Man Ure, especially their fans.

Basically there are two types. Those who sound like they have come from the set of Coronation Street, and those who come from outside a 50 mile radius of Old Trafford. They are all cunts especially the latter group.

Man Ure moving up the table is as welcome as Netenyahu at a mosque.

Can I get a bet on a really dodgy reffing decision on a game changing issue, favouring them. Not all the exrtra possession they get from throw ins, corners ect. like Taylor at Chelsea
