"Saw in the Daily Telegraph that Chris Nicoll (Soton and Aston Villa) also died on Sunday. The cause was his dedication to football, had severe memory loss in later years. It appears that the truth cannot be reported now. RIP to them both"

"Stan was always broke due to gambling, When he made his England debut someone said 'who's boots are you wearing Stan?' Adidas they gave me £100 to wear them tonight.' 'We are all wearing Puma, their rep is outside paying £150' Stan made his debut wearing one Addias boot and one Puma boot."

"Looking up that old footage I sadly came across Maria Parkes 49 real West Ham fan dying of heart attack last year RIP. Poor Phil if I remember he hasn't been well, last thing he needs. Not right seeing a child go, condolences."

"https://youtu.be/aYKpofJLJFE?feature=shared Great player real entertainer RIP. Rodney Marsh, Francis, Sinclair later, Don Rogers came on for Bowles he was another great player, remember Rogers scoring a hatrick for Palace 5-0 v Man Utd one dribble from the halfway line, they've had their share. Parkes was playing for them this day. 5th Round FA Cup 1975. Great game on a quagmire of a pitch, 40k, North Bank singing Stanley Stanley show us your Bowles, massive cheer when he went off and Trevor Brooking walks on water. Set us up nicely to beat Arsenal at Highbury in the quarters on our way to Wembley for Billy to lift the Cup!"

My brother is a QPR fan so used to keep an eye out for them & Stanley was a brilliant player in a great team. Should have won the League in 1975/76 (like us in 1985/86) RIP

Far Clough Lawrenson denied the kit bag shit but could well of been true. He certainly had his vices but seemed to be able physically to carry on regardless of booze drugs or injury and never ever wore shin pads.

"Didn’t get too excited about many players of other teams, but Bowles was brilliant, if he’d played for us he’d be worshipped like Di Canio. RIP to one of the great entertainers."

Far Clough Some great stories about Robin particularly the one involving Mark Lawrenson. I often see his brother Tony in local pubs and he is a top fella. I

Funny how back then he was looked upon as charismatic (wide boy) with the love of the pub and betting shop. These days most people would look down their noses at this type of person.

"Good luck, Sydders. Wish you all the strength and understanding. There was a storyline on Emmerdale Farm some time ago about one character who got Alzheimer's. I've never watched that programme but did see that on YouTube. It was very well done. Recommended."

"Remember him as a kid, they had few great players in that era, Rodney Marsh also comes to mind. See it was the curse of Alzheimer's that got him, a path im about to go down as my Mum has been diagnosed, going to be a rough few years i think and will be making more trips to the UK than i normally would. RIP Stan"
