We need to talk about Kalvin..

Does he get back into last nights team? And for who? Can we afford to play Rusty Philips?

He's a much better player than Soucek and better than Ward-Prowse (who i thought was bang average last night). Phillips will come good. Typical West Ham to write a player off

Good to bring on for the last 6 minutes to commit a couple of yellows.

"Id still be tempted to stick him in ahead of Soucek at Everton Away from home you need some quality on the ball and Soucek has none lets be honest Did ok last night, just looked really good as he has been a league one player most of this season Phillips with a point to prove would tempt me, but it would be last chance saloon for him you'd think"

My only thing is I wonder how kalvin plays in a team like last night that is actively pushing forward? Can’t even remember him in the final third of any game he’s played for us. Soucek did have probably the best game I’ve seen him in in terms of midfield play. He looked like who could pass and move. I was shocked as I didn’t think he had any ball skills at all. I have no idea what pills the team was on last night…

No. Bench at best. I paid particular attention to Soucek last night. I thought he had a good game. He missed several (four?) half chances but he has a knack of getting in good positions. He also broke up Brentford attacks on a number of occasions and got several blocks in.In the passing department he kept things simple and I don't remember him giving the ball away either. On that evidence he offers more than Philips.

"I’ve said it before, there’s a good player there, but he’s not fit and won’t be fit before the end of the season and therefore he’s a body taking up a huge wage and fee to do fuck all. No doubt he’ll get thrown in again and be prone to errors because he’s not fit enough to play. Guardiola must be laughing his bollocks off."

No chance he starts at Everton. We should leave him up there.

One of the most pointless signings we've ever made. An expensive mistake.
